Well, with the dogs bordered, house sitters secured and Freddy the turtle set up to receive his daily rations of stinky dried shrimp, we (the family and I) set out on our journey eastward. We’ll end up in Millville via a detour through Belleville, IL to visit family for the weekend. First stop along the way was a fruit and veggie stand (fruit stand) somewhere between Little Rock and nowhere in northern AR. We gave the trailer awning a test run while we shared in a roadside picnic complete with pbj’s, homegrown tomatoes and a first for all of us, by-colored corn on the cob that was so sweet that it was edible (without giving one the runs) right off the stalk and right out of the shuck. Honestly, probably the best tasting corn I’ve ever had in my life. Before long, we had a trailer full of gawkers wanting to know about the car. The owner of the fruit stand even called one of his buddies to come out and take a look. Not long after, a pickup pulls up with four mechanics from the local Chevy dealer who are eyeballing and asking questions. The idea of the car being Frankenstein’s version of a 7 replica left them with that ‘deer in the headlights’ look. When I mentioned LS3 and raised the hood, it was ‘hell yeahs!’ and high fives all around. Sunday, plans are to head east with a stop in Indy to meet up with Jack Banker and his wife Penny for dinner. From there, we’ll move on and plan an over night in Dayton with a tour of the Air Force museum the next morning (I can’t get that close to the XB-70 Valkyrie and not take a peak). Planning on being in Millville early (July 3rd) to give the family and I a little time to venture out before the event. Looking forward to a seeing everyone, and here’s to our all having a safe, fun-filled experience. Also, if you look closely in the photo of the Storker sitting in the trailer, you can see Suave resting soundly on the G-Force helmet in the upper cabinet. I think he’ll have to join us for the awards ceremony. :jester:

My non-functional (very PC) engine "upgrade"

Looks great. With the valve cover matching the red seats, I may just have to drive around with the hood off. -
Met my hero today and was utterly dissapointed

That’s a great looking car. And, how much is knee surgery? :jester: On a somewhat more serious note, lowered floor pans may provide you with that ‘fit like a glove’ quality you were hoping for. So, buy the car with lowered floor pans, save the knees, and perhaps offer up a round of drinks for our ‘goofy’ SV-driving brethren to remain in good standing. -

Jae..., For the most part, yes, the majority of Caterhams have a 7 in the grill, but not all do. Below are a few examples of Caterhams with/without a 7 in the grill. To add to the confusion, there are many non-Caterhams sporting 7 grills; for example, the one photo below with two cars side-by-side is of two Stalkers with 7 grills. -
Bob, It's the steering wheel. :jester:

Unless you live in the ‘deep south’ of Arkansas. Down here, it’s pronounced Kate-er-hey-em (four syllables, with a drawl). :jester: Bingo! But I be dayem, I just can’t figure out for the life of me how to pronounce the word on the badge on the front of my Storker. I think it says ‘Lowe-tuss’. :ack: -
How are you’re current wings attached and can you replicate the mounting?

Better save them for those ‘ just in case’ moments in life.

With the NJMP 4th of July event :flag: little more than a week away, I finally got around to corner weighting the car. While still considered a heavy weight by most 7-ish standards, the car (with full fuel, 9qts of oil, Accusump/oil cooler system, track tire/wheel package and wings...no driver) weighed in at 1674lbs. To put that in perspective, that’s 76lbs less than it weighed pre-accident. Weight shedding came about via a slightly different chassis design, a definitely different cage design, an even lighter-weight battery, a rethinking of how I fastened the car back together and what materials were used, and, a little weight reduction here and there via trimming of components and the use of various sizes of Milwaukee hole saws. As for me, I’m a s bit more robust than I was pre-accident. I fear the only thing that’s going to take weight off of the LR is a healthy dose of Jenny Craig. :ack:

Klasik, I remember that car from the 2014 USA7s festival; I believe the paint was brand spanking new back then. Beautiful car and well built. Bob got a head of a deal. Still pushing for the metal flake steering wheel though. :jester: -

Bob, Congrats on the purchase. You’re a 7-buying madman. Now, bring the car, the lovely steering wheel, Suave’s big brother and his pal Pee-wee to NJMP in July. ‘Nuff said. However, that black car begs for a tomato red interior, and a red metal flake steering wheel would be a great start. -

Had the opportunity a few years ago to experience some of the outlying San Diego area in a Birkin. Awesome scenery and fun roads.

LOL! I’ll turn that 360 into a 720 once loose in the octapus. :jester:

That’s just mean. :toetap05: Obviously the extra-tall XL model with the optional all-steel hard top being driven by a confused (probably lost) amateur NASCAR fan with two first names whose only aspiration in life is turning left. :flag:
