2017 Katie's Cars & Coffee Thread - Great Falls, VA
xcarguy replied to rcollum's topic in Mid-Atlantic
LOL!!! Love the Bug! Thanks for posting. -
Build, build, build . . . :smash: Kept Suave busy the past two or three days with suspension, steering, brakes and fenders, but the stork did misplace my rear axles; job security. Pretty sure he thinks he'll be out of a job once the car is on the ground. Maybe some spray paint and a little polish will jog his memory.

The Regular Summary of Classified Ads of Se7ens Found For Sale

Suave wants it for a stable mate! :ack: He says (actually, he squawks...a lot) that with the Panoz underpinnings, we could do this to it. -
Done!

Kept Suave busy today in the shop. Helping with riveting panels. All was going well till Suave started sneaking around and sniffing the zinc chromate primer. Ended up having to chase him around the shop with a butterfly net. Lester has taught little brother some bad habits.

Storks-amighty!!! There really are two of them!

I've used RockAuto over the years. Rear disks on my Storker came from these guys. Recommend.

Mike, Suave's feathers are all nice and clean. Amazing how buffing removes paint from feathers while, at the same time, polishes things up a it. The blue stripe is stripping tape from Any Automotive Store USA. If I get tired of blue, I can....

Mike, Great job on the diffuser. :cooldude:

Can I come over and play? :jester:

Suave!!! Why did you sit on a freshly painted axle? You're the one that kept saying, "Take my picture! Take my picture!" :jester:

A busy week for Suave and I. We spent the past few days breaking down the Storker mock build...again. Suave thinks it's time to give the old bird a different look. So, after disassembly, some minor fabrication and finish welding, it was off to powder coat for the new chassis. In the mean time, Suave decided to freshen up the rear axle with a fresh coat of black paint. One more week at home before blasting off for Indy, so perhaps a few parts will find there way onto the chassis this week. Ready to get this thing assembled on a more permanent basis.

Welcome aboard.

Awesome, Mike! Absolutely awesome car.

Mike, glad you and Jack got together on the clams. And Jack, I'll be coming up to Indy on the 22nd. Looking forward to meeting you and Dave in person.

Hey, he drives like me!!!! And Suave says he misses you too. :seeya:

Ditto! :hurray:

Tom, When I had my accident at TWS, the nylon bolts holding on my rear wings snapped saving the wings from any real damage. Too bad that couldn't have worked for my back.
-
Tom, I'm thinking a little orange 'cone' tattoo right there where the bruise be. :jester: Hey, glad you're OK.

Awesome...thanks, Mike! Gee...thanks, Mike. :toetap05: Dave, so you know you are not alone:
