  1. I checked both Caterham. The "his" car with the regular Zetec and the "her" car with the SVT have the identical curve pipe with "S" hose.
  2. The local gossip said the car is insured for $ 900,000 with a $ 9,000 deductible.
  3. Houston Chronicle has identified the driver/owner. He is Andy House of Lukin (about 3 hours drive north of Houston) and he owns a company that restores damaged luxury cars for sale.
  4. where is the pelican? It is the state bird of Texas.
  5. A local SCCA racer/driving instructor has a comment on his students when he teaches HPDE classes to various car clubs: "Drivers' receptiveness to instruction is inversely related to the price of their cars
  6. This happened yesterday afternoon around 3:00 pm. Driver claimed a low flying pelican distracted him while he was on his cell phone, while driving, which caused him to jerk the wheel, run over the grass median onto the feeder and then over the shoulder and into three feet of brackish salt water. The driver chose to stay out of the range of the camera.
  7. This happened yesterday afternoon just outside of Houston. YouTube - Bugatti Veyron Crashed into Lake! (Video)
  8. Lately my Zetec's red light within the tech has been on/off very randomly like when I lift the throttle suddenly. It has never done this before. It has never stayed on while running. The battery is fully charged and the car runs fine. On the SVT, the light only turns red during starting. The Caterham manual calls it the low voltage light, same definition as Athen7.
  9. I feel a lot better since my two Caterhams are doing the same thing. The Zetec has the the automatic transmission error code plus a few others. The little red light also comes on randomly. The SVT has been popping and backfiring since day one.
  10. Many thanks to Phil for organizing the event. We had a great time meeting new friends and enjoyed the company of fellow Seven owners.
  11. It takes about 6 months for my 2009 SV from inital order to delivery to the dealer in Fort Worth.
  12. 8:30 am at Sunday House Inn in Fredericksburg. Lunch at Eagle Cafe in Leakey 11:40 am. I saw some trailer parking along the side streets and inside the motel parking lot.
  13. Ken (speedcraft, green Caterham) and I (silver Caterham) were at the Lotus Owners of South Texas (LOST) Kerrville drive last weekend. The weather was perfect on Saturday.
  14. Today Ken (speedcraft) and I drove the Kerrville/Medina/Leaky/Hunt/Bandera loop in our Caterhams with LOST (Lotus Owners of South Texas). Great roads and scenery. A bit cold in the morning but warms up after lunch at Leaky.
  15. good to see that the car is being used instead of being a garage queen.
  16. I purchased the side mirrors for my green Caterham from them. No issue here.
  17. Yesterday Lotus Owners of South Texas (LOST) held a timed event at the Houston Police Academy. The husband in an Elise was beaten solidlly by the wife in a Nissan 350Z. The husband drove aggressively and on appearance he looked fast. The wife was super smooth and just glide around the track. Timer does not lie. By the way, Ken (speedcraft) took FTD in his Fireblade Caterham on Avon slicks.
  18. Ken (speedcraft) and I have made reservation at the Sunday House Inn.
  19. Which motel is the event staying at?
  20. Ken and I loaded our Caterham inside the trailer this afternoon. His Fireblade's dry sump pan barely scraped the aluminum flap between the ramp and the trailer floor. My SV's Raceline pan also barely scraped the same flap. Very minor issue.
  21. Do you have any details on the Hill Country Tour? Where and when do we meet?
  22. A few months ago, Ken (speedcraft), his parent, and we took a blat to Washington on the Brazos, the site of Texas independence from Mexico. Ken's Series 3 are in the middle (green Zetec and red Fireblade). Our his and her SV are on the outside (green SVT and silver Zetec).
  23. Here are the pictures of the tie downs and spare tire mount. The dealer used a decent size backing plate for the anchors.
  24. We added a flourescent green reflective strip on the sides and back of the trailer this evening. It really glows at night like a school bus.
  25. We picked up the trailer today. Thank you for every one's help. It is easy to tow and the mileage on the Landcruiser drops from 15.8 mpg to 12.5 mpg on an empty trailer. Next thing to do is to load the Seven in the trailer to see how it fits.
