  2. In the process of redoing the dash .. I was not pleased with the spring loaded horn pin which was glued in place. So after some searching around the shop .. a friend and I decided that a black push button would do the trick. It will be very sturdy. The horn pin is from an '80s Toyota. 3. Here are three toyota rack and pinion setups .. Top one is standard Tercel from '80-'82 car. Middle one is from a Starlet '81. (Interferes with the rocker suspension) Lower one is the shortened Tercel unit from the Rotus (makes a clicking sound when turned) Middle and lower ones: Rack is the same length. 5. You are welcome .. Here's a pic of my Lucas (MGB) wiper setup .. (from eBay) ... Other pic is of the aluminum shelf on which the motor will bolt. I placed a few shims there to get the proper height. On the vertical part of the shelf I will place the interval timing circuit and a rheostat to adjust the timing. 11. Three wheelers can run in the HOV lanes in Ga. Rob
  12. Another comparison .. The one with straight cog pinion turns faster than the worm gear pinion. Same rack. I may just live with the old rack as is. Rob
  13. Although I ordered a set of the wire headlight covers above .. I am not pleased with them .. they are not as nice as others that I have seen and ... because they are a pain to mount .. then while browsing the Soft Bits for Sevens site I found these nice Head Light Covers. I might have to splurge! 77630 HEADLIGHT COVERS (pair) - black Seven logo $40.32 at Rocky Mountain Sportscars Rob

  19. This is our own Evox (Andrew)! He is building it in the back lot of his frat house!! This past spring it won second place for homebuilt at the Ga Tech car show (all it had was an engine, frame and four wheels .. not even a drive shaft yet!). He is using a '84 Celica as the donor car. Looking great! Rob
  20. Toyota Axle Website: http://www.norbie.net/toyotaaxle/ As an example of how to decipher Toyota axle codes: The '80 Supra from which I grabbed the solid rear axle has code "F312" which corresponds to: a 7.5" Ring Gear, a 3.909 gear ratio, and 2 pinions with no LSD. Rob Copied from celicasupra.com:
  21.
  22. Two years ago .. I was driving my convertible (with the top down) to work and parking it under the ambulance entrance. One evening at the ER .. a guy driving a UHaul truck decided that the best way to turn around off the highway was to drive through the amulance entrance which is covered by part of the building. In the process .. the truck scraped the ceiling .. and took out 4 sprinkler heads. Well those things are made to shut off .. but not when they are missing! There was a large volume of water which drained down the hill and down the highway fou about 1-2 hours .. until the city water workers came to shut off the water! The police found the driver parked at the bottom of the hill .. asleep .. and sprinkler heads imbedded in the top of his UHaul truck. Everyone said that I it fortunate that I was not working that night .. otherwise my open conv would have been full! :ack: Rob
  23. Interesting thought .. I compared the two pinions .. One has straight cogs and the other is a worm gear. Same rack. Rob
