  1. The UK £ exchange rate alone would make me choose a US manufacturer like the Brunton Stalker ... Think about the cost of spare parts .. 1 British pound £ = 2.0378 U.S. dollars! Rob
  2. but pricy too! :ack: Rob

  8. Andrew here at Ga Tech has some software for designing a metal cut to fit piece. So it prints out a paper template of the part to fabricate for an exact fit. That's something to think about ... when building your own frame which he is doing ... finishing ... Rob
  9. Those momo wheels are pretty strange looking .. http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1669980265_mod100.jpg Maybe get a steering wheel like this one?? Then you can put pastries on it. 13. Gotta love air guns! Made taking the suspension apart .. a breeze! Rob
  14. Some of us are kinda built kinda strange .. I too am "long in the torso" 5'10" and 30" inseam (short legs .. long body). So my feet fit the roomy Rotus footwell .. and my head is just under the Rotus rollbar. The Rotus is kinda like the "fat bastard" Caterham. Rob
  15. Got her up on four jack stands today .. took apart the front suspension and removed the two front Koni shocks. Then with a friend's help .. we got the springs off the shocks. Also removed the two front hubs ... Then removed the two front clamshell fenders .. That's all I had time to do today. Now to send the two shocks back to Koni for a rebuild and repaint. Now I go to work for 24h. It's terrible when work interferes with car shop time. Rob
  16. Damn .. I wish I could get my hands on a Curta! Rob
  17. What good is it if you cannot modify / upgrade / fix it yourself ? Of course for some people .. life is short .. Rob
  18. Drove the Rotus to the mechanics' shop .. it's now inside .. and today I stripped all the little bits off the body and windshield off .. mirrors off. Tomorrow .. I diagram the rear light wires .. and then all the fenders come off .. in preparation for painting. Still need to modify the Supra rear end (disc brakes) and switch out the Corolla rear end (Drum Brakes). We'll get down to the bare bones tomorrow! Rob
  19. Makes the Seven look like a bumper car! That sure is different looking by far! Glad it worked for you. Great job! Rob
  20. I am .. out of town! I'll mention it to Andrew at GaTech and you mention it to Brad. Rob
  21. Cloveland Motorsports has all of this. Search eBay for "locost" and you will see all the parts .. Rob
  22. BTW: I've been reading your build diary on your cheap sportscar website. I've been taking notes and I am coming up with some questions for you. Rob
  23. A battery cutoff switch is required! I had a great experience installing mine in the dash .. I used two of those stepped drill bits. I thought that I could cut off the battery after getting the car started and charging for a few minutes .. but without the battery in the circuit .. the voltage is higher and that throws off the electronic speedometer (registers a higher speed). Rob
