  1. Sorry I missed the run, but glad the weather held out.
  2. George, Welcome to the forum. I'm the guy that went into the tire wall on the uphill. An expensive lesson in car control for sure. I just did the SCCA Double Driving school at NJMP and and had a ball, can't quite figure out how to get my car into an SCCA class though. Let us know when you are racing and we can come to cheer you on! We would all love to have you at the NJMP event later this month. I expect to have my car back together by then. Karl
  3. Thanks, I get it now!
  4. I don't know this place... Any help with a town?
  5. I may try to get there for the lunch and a beer. Just let me know where and when to meet. I've gotta see what new goodies mike has on the CSR.
  6. Mike, I just put in longer studs so that I could stop my extra fat Michelin slicks from rubbing on the Watts linkage by adding 5mm spacers, I could fedex Wil my old studs for a Friday delivery if you want. BTW, how much torque did they use??? Did they shear all of them????? Karl
  7. Wish I could. My car is still in bits. We are however making progress getting it back together.
  8. Sounds like a fun day!
  9. Tom, No need to do that. Jon at Caterham USA had one for me. I should have called him first!!! Karl
  10. Hopefully I can find one to borrow or steal, it would make my mechanic more comfortable.
  11. Perhaps this would be a good addition to your expanding collection!
  12. I spoke to Simon Rogers in the UK (he makes a slick adjustable ARB) and he said the same about running without an ARB. The key is to stiffen up the low speed dampening on my adjustable shocks... My mechanic is nervous, but Simon swears I'll be OK. Thanks for the tip!
  13. Sorry to hear about the accident.
  14. really? I was thinking of sneaking into Croc's garage to procure one in the middle of the night.
  15. Just checking in to see if anyone has a spare SV Anti-Roll Bar. Caterham UK has been back ordered for a while and I need one ASAP so I can make it to the NJ Sevens gathering in a few weeks. Karl
  16. I think it would be much safer than a regular Caterham. Plus it is such a pretty color she is sure to love it.
  17. We are counting on one of our trusted NJMP members to bring us a detailed report on the new Caterham. Croc, if you can distract them by raising up a super big dust cloud, Tom can hop in the car and run a few test laps before they know what hit them... We're called Motorsports Enthusiasts... Passionate Drivers... Racing Aficionados... New Jersey Motorsports Park is excited to extend an exclusive offer to you, to take advantage of in the next few days ... This exclusive offer, regarding initiation fees, is only vaild during one of the three upcoming members-only days on our world-class Lightning track - a 1.9 mile, 10 corner circuit which is fast and challenging! Thursday, May 31, 2012 Sunday, June 3, 2012 Monday, June 4, 2012 Contact Donald Fauerbach at (856) 327 -7201 or dfauerbach@njmp.com to learn more about your exclusive offer from NJMP. If you choose to be a part of this weekend's action, on June 3 and 4 you will have the opportunity to view the newest generation track car from Caterham, as Dyson Racing will have the SP/300R ready to roll out on Lightning Track. You will witness first-hand this amazing new track weapon. Please join us in being one of the special guests to check out the Caterham SP/300R. The following excerpt from "Motor Trend" and related links will surely whet your appetite. "Rising from the ashes of Team Lotus, Caterham F1 has put the company firmly on the map, and it's looking to capitalize on its first sweet taste of fame. The Caterham SP/300R is its first all-new customer car since the slow-selling, Lotus-Elise-rivaling Caterham 21 from 1994, and it's not for the faint-hearted. This extreme track-only model will be limited to 25 units a year, roughly half of which are expected to sign up to a European one-make series, while the other half will be put to use as expensive toys. It's aimed at owners of track-biased road cars, such as a Porsche 911 GT3 RS or Ferrari 430 Scuderia, who want to take their hobby to the next level and still have enough dollars left over for some plush everyday transport. Forget cut-slicks, rollcages, and stiffened suspension. The SP/300R isn't a road car with a studded collar -- it's a full-bore track weapon." 18. Well now, that just looks like a lot of fun. I look forward to seeing it on the track in June!!!
  19. Two cars, did I miss something? If I don't have my car done by then I'll get a rental Spec Racer. I think it's likely that I will be back on the road by then though. All my bits are here and just clearing customs today.
  20. I am still hopeful for NJMP. The shop says two full weeks to put it back together, but I am still missing a couple of parts. I'll know more next week.
  21. Unfortunately, things are not looking good for me to attend. The rebuilding of my car is taking longer than I hoped for. The Chassis Body Unit just arrived in the USA today and it the car has to be completely reassembled. I'm very disappointed...

    Woops

I hope he is OK. I know the feeling...
  23. Or, you can buy your own spec racer ford and pick it up in Minneapolis on the way. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/SCCA-SRF-Spec-Racer-Ford-Road-Race-Car-NASA-Track-Day-Club-Racing-/230795780680?pt=Race_Cars_Not_Street_Legal_&hash=item35bc802248#ht_3082wt_1167
  24. Plus you have all that low end diesel torque to work with.
  25. Their spec racers are less but still expensive. They are fun to drive though and I'll be in one on Monday at Lime Rock (getting back on the horse). I bet your VW would do well on the track! Just lock in the hubs and follow Croc! My car just might make it. The Chassis Body Unit is on a plane from England to Newark tomorrow with a crate of new parts.
