  1. UPDATE: Apparently the SCCA stewards have determined a full roll cage (SCCA Compliant) is required for the school. So, I have the car at a local fabricator who is building a cage. (I feel like I'm in an episode of Orange County Choppers and am down to 50% odds that it will be done in time) I may end up renting a car for the event. Entropy Racing has some Spec Racers and even a Caterham S3 (I'll need to borrow a shoe horn and some Vaseline) and I have a leads on a race prepared BMW E30.
  2. Mike, Didn't SCCA require you to have two side intrusion bars going front to rear? I'm in the middle of making a cage for my car as we speak. Karl
  3. Would it go faster if we all came over to watch you work? We would love to have you at the track in June!
  4. You may want to try Jet-Hot.com It's not as expensive as one might think and looks great!
  5. I have a fire system (OMP Electronic) and a Fuel Cell (ATL) in the car now. The roll cage is still in question. The tech guys from the South Jersey seem to be creative for the driving school, but for any races it looks like a full cage will be required. I'm worried that a cage big enough to fit me will make the car too top heavy... You would also need a fire suit and neck restraints to participate with SCCA.
  6. Maybe you should switch up to some 13" slicks! They are good for keeping you on the track :driving:
  7. Man oh Man, what a nice day at NJMP. Was at T-bolt today and it was nearly 70. I'm getting a lot more comfortable and was running in the low 1:40's. Much quicker than last fall. Yes, I will be at the SCCA school at the end of the month. I had the good fortune to park next to a instructor for the school yesterday so I got a better feel for the event. Apparently they keep you running all weekend, no time to relax, you are either in class or on the track. It should be fun. Love to have company, but I don't expect to have much time to hang out! I'm glad to have driven Lightning yesterday, it felt great and I was able to follow Dermont's braking style - none in most corners, just lift a little. Tom & Mike, I hope you get as nice a weekend for your members' day next weekend. Karl
  8. Well just to make everyone jealous; I'm at NJMP this weekend with the PCA! 65 abd sunny, am I back in LA?
  9. Twin supercharged turbos! And a giant carbon fiber wing!
  10. Frenchtown? Maybe, if I can get a weekend pass for my car from Exoticars! Croc?

  12. Toga Toga...
  13. Mog-Racing is great. Shipping can be expensive depending on what you get. Joachim always gives you a firm shipping cost before placing the order. I got a CF nose cone. 5" headlamps and 8" wide front wings and was happy with the quality. Have also bought a number of other things and they are very helpful by phone. I have not used Fluke, but I think Mog owns Fluke or something like that...
  14. I think that's a great idea. Can't we fit 25 caterhams in your parking garage?
  15. So, I heard from someone "in the know" that the F1 dates are the weekend of June 21-23. Has anyone else heard anything else? I can't find any official postings. The only hotel in Weehawken, Sheraton Lincoln Harbor is pricing rooms at about $700/night and shows no availability the two weekends before. So, I'm not sure how reliable my information is. Hopefully Croc will use his close connections with Ansar and Tony to get the Caterham Parking Corral set up in the paddock area! Karl
  16. is that a challenge? My car is in with Wil to install a secret weapon... Smoke Screen? Oil Slick? Tire Rippers? Just wait till June 25th!!!
  17. Here is a fun video of Ken Block in his 650bhp Gymkhana Fiesta. At first I thought it might be Croc with his CSR in disguise.
  18. Check out Orange + Aid
  19. As I recall we all ran in the intermediate run group and it worked out well. This year I'm goiong to keep up with Mike!
  20. Can you fit the airfoils on the upper wishbones as well? Croc, I think we may have a way to keep up with you and your diffuser powered CSR...
  21. One word... HYPERFEST the automotive amusement park
  22. Mike, your mechanic at Exoticars swears you can take the right hand turn at the end of the long straight at Lightning at 130 MPH with your ground effects!
  23. Mike, Do you think they won't like it? I mentioned my roll bar was tall enough to pass the broomstick test and that I had it made by a well known SCCA race shop. They did not seem worried.
  24. Welcome to USA7s. Your blatchat posts inspired me. Love the Sadev sequential. Have you thought about the Geartronics paddle shift kit? Karl
  25. It would be good to see everyone. Hopefully it is a sunny day in the 60's!
