  1. Good One :smilielol5: Al
  2. This is one of the reasons I installed a 28000 btu heater with adj dash vents. I was out the other day and though only -4 it was cold enough, I also forgot my gloves. I aimed the vent at the steering wheel and cranked the heater on high and I was surprised at much hot air I got on the steering wheel. One of my better ideas Al
  3. I just used a rubber shock bushing, usually free at most any muffler shop. Al
  4. We are cooking turkey today in preparation for the hungry people tomorrow. Thanksgiving also serves a dual purpose as our youngest kid, the baby of the family, who also has 4 of her own babies turns '40'. Eeeeghads, starting to feel old, still wish I was 62.:smilielol5: Al
  5. That was amazing, Thanks for posting it. Al
  6. Very nice, watched more than once. Al
  7. Depends on what you want it for, if it is for racing then it has to be accessible for shut off in case of an accident, as others have mentioned already. In my case I don't race mine so I have a removable double sided key on the console for security/theft, shuts off everything that goes through the main 50amp fuse. Al
  8. I used a truck roll on box liner on both sides of the tunnel footwell. No heat issues on mine so far. Al
  9. My wife won't let me go out in the car out without her, this has its advantages as she ends up doing all the yakking with bystanders, allows me to actually get gas in the tank at gas stations and such, waves at all the people photo taking, etc . It is like having my own PR person. Al
  10. I am not familiar with your engine but a carbureted engine is not a sealed system so they do stink after they are turned off, especially if the car is running a bit rich and is left to idle too long in a enclosed garage. Mine is carbureted and I usually turn it off as I enter the garage and let it coast to where I want to park it. Someone more familiar with your motor may have better advice. Al
  11. 15 gallon RCI tank and about 350 miles. Al
  12. Gee whiz guys, Politicians :dupe: are usually ex car salesman. Al
  13. Depends on the type of wheel, cast aluminum will cure at a lower temperature than forged aluminum, depending on the type of aluminum will depend on the length of the treatment. The cheap wheel might do 325* for an hour, the other might need 450* for 3 hours, which could be a risk to the rims safety. Old rims, new rims? As you mentioned you need to research a number of shops to get a feel on what you can do with yours. Who knows, you might even be able to find a replacement set cost effectively after selling your old ones, perhaps another option to consider, I will say though as you noted $225 each isn't chump change, there's got to be a better way. Al
  14. I may be retired for over a decade now, but if that didn't bring back memories of calling project implementation meetings and having a dozen engineers show up from various departments and companies to assign ownership responsiibilties. The end result usually another half a dozen meetings just to clear up the first meeting. And people ask why everything costs so much:deadhorse: Al
  15. Here is my dash as well. Al
  16. Ah, the vacuum gift, you only do that once:nopity: Al
  17. I will say this you haven't had floaters until your cornea gets a tear in it. That is what happened to me,so if you see meteorites flashing by, get to the eye surgeon right away. So now I have a real pile of floaters, because of the fluid that is behind my cornea, this was caused by my delay in not understanding what was happening. So after the surgery was over I was told I will always see floaters, big and small, light flashes in the dark etc. My actual vision has not been affected, so really, just one of lifes deals. If you just except it, your will soon ignore it, the mind is really good that way. Now I don't think about the big spider web or flashes anymore, the mind really does compensate. The important thing is don't let it get to you and everything will be fine. Al
  18. Now that is really slick, love it. Al
  19. It doesn't matter what the situation is whether it is Christianity or Muslim or whatever, if man is involved, he will screw it up.:sadangel: On the other hand I attended a very nice candle light service which I enjoyed immensely, so maybe man doesn't screw up everything, all of the time..:hurray: Al
  20. I also did my forward footwell tunnel panels with a bedliner, so far after 2 years it has worked out real well. On the floor part under the dash I went with checker plate, easy to keep clean and a little extra protection from road debris. Al
  21. On my 3.4 V6 I am using Walker Quiet Flows on mine, they are supposed to be for a 1962 Chev truck part number 21028. They are pretty quiet, not super quiet but quiet enough, it is difficult to totally quiet down the V6 without choking it. If you go for the upgrade rotors and brakes keep in mind you will probably need softer pads. Using anything else and the brakes won't get hot enough to grab on the street, even pushing with both feet:ack:. Wheels are just a matter of taste, find a list with the same offset and size you want and pay what ever it is worth to you. In my case I am using 16x7 Mustang wheels because they are cheap and look good, at least in my eyes. The type of car the wheels are on changes the perspective anyway. In my case on a mustang they are just cheap V6 rims, on mine I get people going wow, where you get the rims.:dupe: Like life, it is all an illusion. Al
  22. I did start a thread about the same kind of inquiry on the Locost USA.com. As it has been brought up here I thought I would just paste my original question as posted. Al http://www.locostusa.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=15196
  23. I live in a resort community and I don't even bother trying to take mine out anymore on the hot summer weekends, nothing worse than thousands of inattentive tourists. Being retired I use the rest of the week for my cruising. Al
  24. Check the fuel lines, make sure you don't have any touching the exhaust system or engine it self. If you don't have any touching try running without the hood on a real hot day, if it runs fine then it is probably heat buildup and you need some compartment air flow. If the fuel line is not touching and it still wont run with the hood off, maybe look at some other simple things like the fuel filter, fuel pump getting hot etc. Al
  25. Definitely worth watching and quite interesting, thanks for sharing. Al
