  1. I have used Hi temp silicone many times for this and although it does dry out over time, is flexible enough and works. Tried the been can trick too but sometimes causes even more leakage.
  2. There are a few images and a bit more info on the LotusPALS thread here - http://lotuspals.ning.com/forum/topics/raceway-park-road-course?xg_source=activity
  3. I went over there a month or so ago and this picture was taken just after. The track has not been fully resurfaced but has been pretty well patched up. http://lotuspals.ning.com/forum/attachment/download?id=4667018%3AUploadedFile%3A39284 You are right about lack of run off and it is certainly not a high speed track but for some twisty fun, could be a good day.
  4. Just a heads up that there is a track day planned by the LotusPALs group (http://lotuspals.ning.com/) at Englishtown Raceway Park on 9th April. http://www.etownraceway.com/ Although the road course is small, it would be a fun day and nothing intimidating for first timers to a track. It represents a perfect opportunity for fine tuning the car and socialising. If there are 20 people it is $215/ ea or if it reaches 25 it is $175/ ea. This is an incredible deal! Checks and reservations can be sent direct to: Kim Beyer Raceway Park Marketing and Hospitality Dr. 230 Pension Rd. Englishtown, NJ 07726 732-446-6234 If there is not enough response there is an option to raise the cost or get a refund. I will provide updates here, but sign up quickly, it is limited in numbers. In the first instance, a show of hands on this forum would be a great help.
  5. Need a set of 4 x 28in straight both ends plug wires for the Crossflow. Thought I would pick up something off the shelf as sems simple enough but no such luck. Any recommendations for an easy source without resorting to a DIY cut and budge route from a kit?
  6. Love to but car still in hibernation with various parts on the bench. If you want to come over towards Freehold area, happy to provide some beer!
  7. This one has also been for Sale in the UK for a while. There are a lot of these specials there, many hillclimb specials and very quick! http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/3609602.htm
  8. You may need to brush up on your German but this article covers a few specials. This ar could be one of the Black Brick specials. http://blackbrick.de/Historie.htm
  9. I am in the Calabasas/Malibu area this week (working but hey, I need some time to relax too). Anyone planning to get the Seven out this week, maybe meet for a beer? Planning to push the rental car a bit through those hills after too much time in NJ!
  10. Forgot to say also that budget may influence the decision ...
  11. That is correct, there are a few of us in NJ already. There is also one for sale in NJ on the forum. As well as the car itself, worth also checking out the posts about registering a seven in NJ. Quite a few active posters on the forum are in NJ. Which one? I have had a couple of Crossflow powered cars that are quick and agile enough for the street, less practical than an Elise (obviously) but a great all round car and can be quick enough on the track in the right spec. I also used to race one in the UK and was up there with the 2.0l Vauxhall motors as setup is as important as power - and much cheaper to get right. LSD is a good idea for any spirited driving but can always be added afterwards. I'll let someone else pitch the more hardcore versions. Welcome.
  12. Mine appears to be Lucas 43. For those that need to know, the side entry disti cap part number is 54400270 as stamped on the inside. This is also the following: Lucas DDB 194 Intermotor 4473 (Burton Power)
  13. Need a cap and rotor arm for my Crossflow. Any advice on US suppliers?
  14. Just checked the entry form and they still allow SA2000 helmets. Good for me but I am surprised as most events are now SA2005 or SA2010.
  15. Hmmm. I always prefer the engine to warm up before I redirect the heat to the interior on the basis that without a hot engine, you wont get hot air! (not from the heater anyway!) I am sure getting the temperature of the engine up quickly is more beneficial to the engine even if you freeze your bits off inside the car.
  16. Certainly up for it this year. Count me in. 2. The Stig (Martin)
  17. OK. Maybe we should move off this topic to something calmer. I can see too much frustration!
  18. Like I don't pay enough tax and insurance already! Levied on me as obviously I am a risk having exceeded the speed limit by a few mph!
  19. Had a $150 fine from the NJ DMV last week as I had accumulated 6 points from a couple of speeding tickets. Police fines paid on time but according to the DMV website, they levy a fine for three years until the points are reduced. Anyone had experience of this? Yet another 'tax' in NJ! :banghead:
  20. Very sweet! Likey very muchy! The Westfield chassis is pretty much best in class too having raced one for 5 seasons. I could stick my neck out and say better than the Caterham! (but I won't)
  21. I am looking for a pair of Grey headrests to suit the Caterham seats. On Caterham parts site here - http://www.caterhamparts.co.uk/product.php?id_product=243 Ping me if you have any surplus. Thanks!
  22. Looking for a good tunnel top without handbrake for my S3. Out of stock at Caterham for a while but if anyone has one lying around in the garage, please get in touch. Thanks.
