  1. John I have 4 into 1 Crossflow. I can email you a few pics if you PM me your email address. Hard to see for sure even on the pics but may help. Looks as as if starting with the center pipes first to get the hole in approx place may work and enlarge outwards. Should be able to estimate from the center ports on head to get distance to body. Rather think it won't be that straightforward though. Martin
  2. Check the Caterham parts website. They had black last time I looked and a good price. http://www.caterhamparts.co.uk
  3. I'm close to Turnpike J 8 if that works. Happy to help a fit!
  4. QH is Quinton Hazel. Their mark is the lion. Looks like a standard 10lb cap.
  5. I'd start by pulling out the Jets and check for debris, replace fuel filter and check fuel regulator. Could be plugs or leads or coil even. Plenty to try.
  6. Most early UK Ford gearboxes had integral bellhousings anyway but the guides on the Burton Power website may help ID it and find something to fit - http://www.burtonpower.com/tuning-guides.html Burton also sell Ford bellhousings so worth a browse as you may ID something similar to yours. The usual upgrade though would be a Type 9 box with alloy bellhousing, yours looks to be cast. I believe most also had the starter and clutch on the opposite sides to yours.
  7. I was amused at the first picture. 40 odd years later I once forgot to secure the hood and it flew! Nothing new then.

    quick 7

Here's a video from my home hillclimb course in UK. This is a great time for this course. In context, my best with full race Crossflow seven was 44 seconds in a road car class. If you don't like trees and gates, this is not for you!
  9. Thanks for sharing. Dream garage methinks...
  10. Caterham have them. I got one a year or so back. Get the from UK direct. They break so maybe get two!
  11. Great to see the car on BAT Twobone. Why not. I will follow the comments with interest as there is always lively informed - and uninformed - discussion! Hope you do well. We're all watching :lurk:
  12. Ok. Today's pics uploaded on the same link. The special car is the black and green which was for Japan export only. All 10 sold in 48 hours. Looks great! Had a good discussion about importing ex Academy Race cars to the US. If purchased through Caterham they can assist with the import process! Hmmmm! Academy cars start about 18k gbp.
  13. No clamshells on the option list now. UK owners seem to have something against them and mine in the UK didn't have them and I liked seeing the action of the front wheels especially on track. Much easier to place on track. May have time for another quick visit tomorrow so if anyone needs pics of something special let me know!
  14. There is a mix of new, used, customer cars and the press 160 covered in mud! The blue Gulf car is in the workshop. Quite a few end of season Crashed Academy cars for rebuild! Couple of carboned-up 620r cars available!
  15. Stopped by the new Caterham HQ in Crawley, UK today. Seventh heaven! How to choose!! Couple of pics before phone batttery died! https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0B2Ejovy_UoNlSGxHZHBaaXBBM28&usp=sharing Only 5 mins from my UK office too! I'll have to go back and clear up the drool.
  16. They only need £2.35 million to get to Abu-Dhabi... http://www1.skysports.com/f1/news/17583/9554099/caterham-are-launching-a-crowdfunding-project-to-make-the-abu-dhabi-gp If you feel like making a financial commitment - https://www.crowdcube.com/caterham/
  17. I would remove the carpet and drill a 2in diameter hole in the tunnel side in line with the plug so at least you can get right beside the thing. Then any number of tools could be used to clamp, hammer, chisel out the old plug and replace with new. Then fabricate a round removable cover for the hole using small piece of alloy for next time!
  18. Definitely out this weekend. Weather looks great and NJ Cars and Coffee at Millstone on Sunday. Great event for anyone in close proximity of J8 on Turnpike. Some great cars - usually 100 plus! http://www.carsandcoffeenj.com.
  19. Three Crossflow specialists to try. All in the UK. http://www.vulcanengines.com/ http://www.burtonpower.com/ http://www.wilcoxengines.co.uk/xflow.htm Regards
  20. Sounds good to me unless I go to Le Mans.
  21. I am pretty sure they are late Triumph Spitfire. My live axle '85 car is.
