  1. I have those seats in cloth and 1 hour 45 from you in Monroe NJ. 08831 if the location works for you.
  2. I just ordered through Amazon
  3. I’d run it first, adjust the tappets and go from there. A set of springs is about $150 and I’d lap the valves if you’re planning to remove the head. Time to start browsing the Burton Power website!
  4. In the UK https://hpemotorsport.co.uk https://www.vulcan-engineering.co.uk http://www.wilcoxengines.co.uk/xflow.htm Maybe Tony Ingram. http://www.lotus7.com/Home.html
  5. From experience I found clutch and throttle cables to be essential spares to carry!
  6. I love something like these for a center mirror. just so cool. https://www.carbuilder.com/uk/lightweight-polished-aluminium-mirror
  7. I’d start with Chris at Redline in the UK. I’d be surprised if you find one here.
  8. I was planning to be there until a bunch of things rearranged my weekend. Shame as I was looking forward to that one.
  9. For sure Burton Power in the UK would have them. I’m sure there are other US suppliers. I don't have any valve seals on mine and never had an issue. Did you remove the head or just valve cover to check? Probably worth lapping in the valves if the head is off.
  10. Gaz or Avo from the uK is a good option. Cost with shipping is not too bad.
  11. Merry Christmas everyone :auto:
  12. Oddly last Sunday I posted our old non-driving BMW X1 on FB Marketplace and negotiated a deal with 30 minutes. I was shocked. Buyer picked up the car Monday, cash in hand. Never bought though as I’ve got enough feather boas!
  13. You are correct with the identification. I had the sender fail so that’s a good place to start by bypassing and see if the fan activates irrespective of whether engine is running or not. Yes there should be a relay. Also if the coolant level went too low, it may not reach the sender so the fan won’t come on. If you don’t have a manual bypass switch for the fan maybe consider adding one for peace of mind.
  14. Have you tried turning the headrest around as mine are thicker on the front than rear so would probably sort the issue.
  15. I replaced that switch with this inline unit in the top hose. Main benefit is that it’s adjustable for temperature. https://www.revotec.com/acatalog/Electronic-Fan-Controller-Hose-Fitting.html
  16. I’d say you found the problem after some methodical testing. New alternator time.
  17. Many years ago I purchased four regular bathroom scales to corner weight a single seater. It actually worked well providing you carefully and gently placed the car and ‘calibrated’ each set by standing on them. I think the scales were about $20 each.
  18. I’ve been using Valvoline VR1 Racing Oil 20w50. It’s a High Zinc oil https://www.valvoline.com/our-products/motor-oil/vr1-racing-oil
  19. The easiest way to gauge how tight is by the gap between the cup washers on either side of the rubber. The gap in your picture looks about right which must be the same on all the studs to ensure it’s straight. If the rubber is older, I’d suggest replacing them all along with the larger gaskets between the carb and manifold which look unusually thick on your picture for a Crossflow. Air leaks will certainly cause popping, although that’s also part of the Crossflow experience! These for the carb to manifold https://www.burtonpower.com/sandwich-plates-misab-40-45dcoe-x-2-set-of-4-webmisab.html http://www.usa7s.net/vb/blob:http://www.usa7s.net/d9e7b36a-96be-4a89-8cee-4c88dfbb2641 these for the nut washers https://www.burtonpower.com/carb-mounting-kit-dcoe-carbs-x-2-webcmk.html http://www.usa7s.net/vb/blob:http://www.usa7s.net/fd83baa5-f2e1-44ba-bee3-06c9425b4dd9 You should be able to purchase from Redline or Pegasus in the US.
  20. No need for a choke. I have never used one and my last car had the choke mechanism removed completely. There is a kit available to do that and it supposedly makes more reliable running although I didn’t really notice. Follow Johns advice and you should be fine. Martin
  21. I’ve used Omex in the past on a number of different cars and always found a suitable unit. http://www.omextechnology.co.uk/
