Narrow seat recommendations

Although the Birkin XS is wider in the cockpit, the width for the seat base is still 18" at the floor. When raised up by sitting on a slider or fixed mount, there is probably 18.5-18.75" clearance. I am looking for decent, somewhat comfortable seats that might fit this chassis. I have looked at the Sparco Sprint and the OMP TRS, the two narrowest I can find. The Sparco dimensions show 19.3" at the front and 16.15" at the rear. The OMP shows 18.9". Anyone have experience with another option? The Birkin seats are a fiberglass shell with upholstered pads installed. OK but not my first choice. Kirkey has some that would fit but that's a little more "track commitment" than I am interested in.

TIA

Tillets are suprisingly comfortable, even just as a fiberglass shell. There are several here that would fit your criteria: https://www.tillett.co.uk/car-racing-seat.asp

I find Bride seats to be well made and are also small as they are made for the Japanese domestic bum. the 470mm should meet your needs here:

The Cobra Racer Pro and Racer Pro V are only 450mm (~17.72 in) wide, so might be worth a look. I've had the Sparco Sprint in 2 cars and it's a nice seat for the money, although the fabric on the side bolsters wears easily. I use the optional kidney pads for additional lumber support which makes them tolerable. My Westifled has MOGs which are the most comfortable seat I've ever sat in. Full disclosure, I developed a very bad back 7 years ago, and most car seats generally become pretty painful after 20-30 minutes, with the MOGs though, my back actually feels better after a drive. Interestingly, and despite the outward similarities, the Tillets are not comfortable for me. In my experience, backs are like feet; everyone's are shaped a little differently, so what is comfortable for one person, may not be that great for someone else. If you have sensitivity in that area, it's worth trying before you buy.

I have an OMP Pista in mt Ultralite. The top of the seat is slightly wider than the opening but I have it setup such that the left edge of the seat goes just under the chassis rail and gains an extra inch of width.

My old 1999 Birkin has modified Porsche 914 seats with adjustable headrest. Re-padded with foam from from aircraft spruce?? And covered in cloth centers with vinyl sides. They are fairly flat in the seat area so extra padding under your thighs near the knee is needed (for a more bucket look/feel), so your legs won't get tired on the longer trips. We have done 300 mile day trips with no tiredness.

I just ordered an OMP TRS-E ES from Pegasus to try. Definitely narrow enough to fit in the chassis. I am still a bit concerned about the "butt capacity". About $400.

Sorry to thread crash, but wanted to tell Dingo that his inbox is full...I just tried to reply to PM and it bounced with a "full" message.
