Kitcat Posted July 30, 2017 Posted July 30, 2017 Thx Bob, I am smitten by this car. Might have something to do with being born in '46 and turning into a car nut a few years later and watching the evolution of car styling throughout the 50's- combined with the family cars including a '53 Chevy and a '59 Chevy station wagon:).
rcollum Posted August 5, 2017 Author Posted August 5, 2017 Thx Bob, I am smitten by this car. Might have something to do with being born in '46 and turning into a car nut a few years later and watching the evolution of car styling throughout the 50's- combined with the family cars including a '53 Chevy and a '59 Chevy station wagon:). OK, here are some more pictures of that same car today... --Bob Collum
rcollum Posted August 5, 2017 Author Posted August 5, 2017 Proof positive that it was a circus today at Katie's... That's a fiberglass replica of a VW bus, driving on its side. Made by the same guy (SpeedyCop) that brought you the Toyota van with the Cessna airplane body. Both are 24 Hours of Lemons racers. Michael D. was there, with his Caterham Seven still for sale... --Bob Collum
rcollum Posted August 5, 2017 Author Posted August 5, 2017 Some notable, beautiful vehicles... --Bob Collum
Kitcat Posted August 5, 2017 Posted August 5, 2017 Epic cars/photos, thx Bob. Not a dud in the bunch. Gotta love the sideways VW van! MichaelD looks to be threatening BBall's long term lock on the shiniest se7en! And if the Chevy ever goes missing, you will have a prime suspect:)!
xcarguy Posted August 6, 2017 Posted August 6, 2017 LOL!!! Love the Bug! Thanks for posting.
rcollum Posted August 13, 2017 Author Posted August 13, 2017 What a difference a week - and weather - makes! While we had a fabulous turnout last week, along with excellent weather, it rained last night, and it was overcast this morning. That meant fewer people at Katie's - but it was still good. --Bob Collum
locost7018 Posted August 13, 2017 Posted August 13, 2017 What in the world is that little two door hatch after the Tonka truck? Thought it might be a French car but too many lug nuts. Russ
rcollum Posted August 13, 2017 Author Posted August 13, 2017 What in the world is that little two door hatch after the Tonka truck? Thought it might be a French car but too many lug nuts. Russ Right, Mike - it's a Nissan Pao, and it's for sale! It did have a French license plate below the rear bumper, but the RHD setup was the giveaway that this is a JDM car. There's ALWAYS something new & different at this Cars & Coffee!
rcollum Posted August 19, 2017 Author Posted August 19, 2017 A beautiful morning at Katie's. Two Sevens there - mine and Michael D's. (His is still for sale!) An interesting Triumph drove thru -- I hadn't seen it before. On the drive home, I found myself following a friend's Diablo. (I probably wasn't going to be passing him!) --Bob Collum
rcollum Posted August 27, 2017 Author Posted August 27, 2017 It was 59 degrees when I left the house, going to Katie's. The sky was clear. Less than a mile from my house, I was enjoying the open sky, and when I arrived at a stoplight, I looked up and saw a meteor streak by overhead. That's the kind of day it was! (See the McGovern Party thread for how we spent the afternoon - http://www.usa7s.net/vb/showthread.php?11644-2017-McGovern-Lotus-Party-Saturday-Aug-26-Ellicott-City-MD ) --Bob Collum
rcollum Posted September 2, 2017 Author Posted September 2, 2017 Attendance at Katie's is never zero. I've been there, and met friends there, even when it's snowing. No snow today, but it did rain all morning. The rain kept away the majority of the exotic cars, but Katie's remains a big social gathering, even without as many interesting vehicles. --Bob Collum
rcollum Posted September 9, 2017 Author Posted September 9, 2017 A very cool morning - in more ways than one. It was 53F when I drove to Katie's this morning in the Seven. Jacket and gloves needed! Here are a few of the interesting cars there this morning... Not many people will even know what any of these cars are. (Though I think one is so easy, I'd be surprised if anybody doesn't know it...) I expect this group to know the toughest one, the third one. --Bob Collum P.S.: Please RSVP to GYLO 14, which takes place Sunday, 9/17/17, 11:00AM. http://www.usa7s.net/vb/showthread.php?11671-Gylo-14

His For Sale post does not show it sold. Selfishly, I hope it at least stays in the area! --Bob Collum
rcollum Posted September 16, 2017 Author Posted September 16, 2017 A pretty good day at Katie's cars & coffee... --Bob Collum
