BeagleGuy78
Looking to buy my first Seven next week and was curious if there are any particular shipping companies that people have had good experiences with shipping their Seven? What should I look out for having a vehicle shipped?
Croc
After much trial and error with my various cars over the years, I only use Intercity now for long distance auto transport. Enclosed and insured. You can get cheaper elsewhere but its not worth it from a stress or hassle point of view. They are bringing the latest toy from Texas to me. ukchris
I had mine shipped CA to NH recently with InterCity and was very pleased. As Croc said not the cheapest but also not the most expensive, very pleased with their service and flexibility though.
BeagleGuy78
Thanks for the recommendation, but intercity doesn't deliver to my area
bball7754
I used Passport to ship my Caterham from Denver to St. Louis, and was happy with their service. However, it was 13 years ago so not sure how useful a recommendation it is. Steve
BeagleGuy78
We have decided to just take an INSANE risky adventure and if I buy it, drive it the 20 hour drive from Florida to Illinois broken into a two day trip.
wemtd
Ear plugs, hat (tied to car with a cord), lots of sun block, frequent stops. (A helmet is also great for wind buffeting & noise comfort) Have fun!
Kitcat
I drove my first Caterham, bought on this site and drove it home, a 600 mile trip. Take ear plugs and ear muffs, a hat, sunscreen, light clothes:it is very hot in a Caterham. Be prepared for lots of questions at every fill-up and traffic light. I had zero mechanical problems (those came later:)). And I had a blast:). I’ll bet you do too! Congratulations on your purchase!

The wife shot down the cross country drive, so I am still looking for a transport company.
FE07
Have used Horseless Carriage in the past and can recommend them. Brought a race car from California to Maryland. Call around though. Sometimes you get lucky and they either have a delivery near you or other pickup near the car you're buying and you can save some money. John B
Good luck on your trip. For the record for anyone looking for transport, I've had very good results placing the jobs out for bid on U-Ship. You specify what you want (enclosed, open...) it then gives you an estimate then transporters actually bid. Often they will bid aggressively if it fits their schedule, i.e. fills a dead leg return. Select a transporter based on their reviews. I've used it probably 10 times and am 10/10 satisfied. www.uship.com
BeagleGuy78
Ended up renting an enclosed trailer locally and just plan on towing the car back myself.
Silk
I've also used Horseless Carriage several times and was very satisfied with the service. Gary
