In the UK you can look up at vehicle registrations. How many get re-registered and how many are new registrations.

Coming back to this chart.

 

First observation - What happened in 2014/5 for new deliveries. Was that the Formula 1 distraction period?

 

Second observation - note how continuous registrations is steadily declining over the long term? Yet average new registrations is roughly consistent over the period. So where are the cars disappearing to?

Third observation - why the massive jump in registrations in 2018? The prior 14 years ranged from 2.2k-2.4k yet suddenly spikes to 3.1k?
