My understanding is that when copying an image on some platforms (like Facebook), it doesn’t give you the actual image data. Instead, they often give you a tracking‑laden link because the image is wrapped in layers of markup and served through URLs designed for analytics and ad targeting. The workaround is to download the image and save locally. YMMV
