Too bad your car doesn't have a heated windshield as that would be your defroster. I had heard, (although I have no actual knowledge of) that carrying anti fog products had worked here in Canada, years ago.

Just called them about the padded dash.
“Given the year our cars replicate, an unpadded should not be a problem.”

” If padding is applied, the quality/thickness is not tested.”

“Padded visors are required during inspection.”

Do they accept no windscreen - present the car with an aeroscreen?  No need for padded visors then.

I appreciate the legwork being done on this matter.

I will hold off on my submission until a few things get sorted out. I'll stay with my registration as is for a little while longer.

Did you guys write down the DOT numbers? My headlights are now LED and I dont think they have proper markings. My defroster isn't connected and my windshield is usually not on and aeroscreen is on 99% of the time. Definitely don't have any bumpers or visors.

Maybe they will take aeroscreen if you have a helmet?

Wait, did you call the NY DMV?

Did you say that “Caterham Sevens replicate the old Lotus sevens?” or did they mention it?

I just requested all my dot and sae numbers for my car from time machines. Will confirm what I get back.

Windscreen seemed to be a must. I did not ask about the windscreen specifically, but he mentioned that it would be checked.

Regarding the Lotus seven-  I mentioned the title having them make as 57 Lotus 57. The gentleman I spoke with on the phone later referenced this as the “vehicle you were attempting to replicate“

The folks at the inspection office I spoke with all, seem to be generally familiar with the Caterhams.

I just realized that I ordered with a full weather kit, so the defroster should be there.

Hi all,

I had a question about SAE markings on lens.

Thanks

Very interested in this one as I am a couple weeks behind you in the process with New York. Just sent in my mv272.1 for a field inspection appointment.

Check the Factory Five forums (maybe archived material) for those numbers. In 2017/18, they were there, if memory serves.

Suggest that the DOT markings and inspection conversation be taken offline. I can answer several of the questions raised, rick@autoventureusa.net   As some may be aware, I was the owner of Time Machines Motorsports that is now operated by Greg.

FYI, the California DMV and tax department monitored Club Cobra some years ago and people bragging about the "phony receipts" that they used at the DMV, got a visit from the CHP and a warrant. Don't be that guy.
