So I’m setting up a cataclysmic combination of features to integrate with the seats. Just have the basic composite seats which I have found to be quite comfy, like a long tall hug.

Harness set up ordered from Schroth.  Will be installing 2 point sub belts and the plates to secure those.  So while seats are out, I’d like to add the same convenience of a runner setup to the passenger seat.

I’ve touched upon dire stories of evasive threads etc. I’ve been baptized by Lotus Elise passenger seat left rear bolt done solo, and similar in an Europa.  Ready for trouble I hope.

So is this done or would it require a new chassis or worse?  Is there a bolt in option?  If so what specific parts numbers etc?

Also, are there reinforcing plates available to put under the car to help secure the seat?  I have such on the track prepped Elise.

Are you wanting different seats?

Do you want to install runners?

I need to verify it, I should have a pair of adjustable seat mounting brackets from a 90's Caterham available. PM me if interested.

I’ve found the composite seats fit my frame well enough.  Just want to make the passenger seat movable like the driver’s seat.

These should work I would think: https://caterhamparts.co.uk/seats/4563-seat-runners-for-race-seat.html?search_query=seat+runners&results=97

I don't think you'd find some used ones for sale, but you could try a WTB ad. Do you have lowered floors in your car? I have lowered floors in mine and the only reinforcement in mounting the seat rails are large backing washers.

Tried in runners sourced from RMC today when sests out for harness placement.

Will need to weld some nuts to the one I have for passenger side like has been done on the set that came with the car on driver side…..

Otherwise would be possible but much potential for aggravations.

Does anyone know the OEM application for those sliders?

Pretty sure they are used to move the seats forward and backward.   I can see the argument it’s unneeded but I wanted the versatility.  I’m 6’1” so want that seat back when I’m passenger but if seat goes forward can put a lot behind it even two doors.

Not placed the passenger runners yet.

OEM application is models of cars used on.  They are likely to be a continuation from an older small car.  I sent a PM.

I don't see what sliders you guys are talking about. I've found common, aftermarket, low profile sliders to be a copy of original triumph spitfire sliders. The only way I can think of to make one lower profile is to offset the slider from under the seat but the seating area would need to be wider than a seven. Cheaper to buy these than refurb originals.

This is something of a tangent but — I would pay a lot for seat sliders that don't freeze up (either by ingress of gravel, or who knows what else). Mine barely moved when I got my car and now I can't move the seats at all. I figure the only way to really get access to fix them will be to remove them, but I've been pre-traumatized by every thread I've read about installing them...

First time I put my slider seats in I needed someone on top and me on bottom for the inside bolts.

When I took them out I had this

This gave me the reach to get to both myself.

I know that one.

The speedwaymotors sliders have square holes so the carriage bolts don't turn. Easy to make tabs or stops to keep normal bolts from turning in the cat sliders.
