S1Steve
KitCat, Spring Carlisle and Fall Carlisle are the real big events. If it were made for a car , you would have a good chance to find it at those events. I have seen parts for cars I never heard off. The Kit Car show is alot smaller, and no waiting on the exit ramp of the PA turnpike for an hour or more, and another 40 or so to the fairgrounds. It's a 10 minute drive from the turnpike to the fairgrounds on a normal day. Still, bring your walking shoe's, it's a BIG place !!! Steve Novelli

lotusman1951
Hi All, I have been to the kit car show and the big Fall shows 6 or 7 time now over the past 20 years. The Big Fall show is overpowering, miles of stuff, the Kitcar/Import show is very doable in 4-5 hour, double loop-usaully a day trip for me at 125 driving miles from the DC area. If you are a real buyer/looker Friday is the day-all those Cosworth rods and Porsche engines get snaped up before noon on Friday, after that its leftovers and overpriced boring stuff. From the perspective of HOW MUCH? I would questimate 300 vendors of used stuff, 200 for sale cars, 100 new kit cars, 50 vendors of new stuff, 300 show cars on the field. The fall show is 10X that amount but ya gotta like 1953 Dodges-If you want a Meyers Manx or a toyota powered 7 its the kit car show. Its really a corn dog experience-its better as a buyer than as an observer, but if your hot for a Puma GT, Devlin, or Crosley Hot Shot-its the place to shop. Bring cash make a deal. BobDrye
I think that I will be there, but it could be just 1 day without my seven. At this time I would say that it will be Saturday. :7head:
gjslutz
FYI all, I just reserved a room @ the Days Inn in Carlisle. #717-258-4147. They only had one non smoking room open after this one. I'm unsure if they had smoking rooms. I searched the area and this was all I could find. AAA $126. Gary

Al N.
FYI...Rooms are tight due to car show and Dickinson College graduation. I usually stay at the sleep inn, but it's booked. Allenberry, a charming old resort, only has 1 room left. I took the other one. -Al

Jon W.
Today is the last day to preregister at the discounted rate. I registered and booked a room in the '96 Econoline extended tow van for Friday night. Locost accomodations. Waiting to hear if my co-builder will attend. Just ordered a fuel pump from a fellow builder so my antique powerplant should be back in business.
eVox
Is there anyone in need of a copilot in the southeast (or anywhere near GA)? I would love to go, and would already be driving past it if my plans for end-of-semester-going-home wern't forced to change. Its hard for me to justify driving to Carisle from atlanta once, then doing it again alone the next week :ack:
