Change is in the air...

Recommended Posts

Hopefully by tonight I will push a new version of the forum into production. The changes are:

1- New color scheme and banner (Huge thanks to Gabe for new banner design, and Al and his team for marking it up)

2- Banner ads :willy: - No, not from adsense... these are from some of our own. You'll recognize them when you see them. These help pay the bills for things such as the tent at Carlisle, future club goodies, etc... If you have a seven related product you want to advertise on the site, please contact Al.

Just posting this now so you don't freak out :leaving:

Mazda:

Many thanks for helping to connect seven guys together. Now when I wakeup in the middle of the night and look at the site it won't take as long for my old eyes to adjust.

Woah. I even read this post before and was *still* surprised when the new look started loading. Looks good so far although the darker background makes certain icons a little less clear. I like the logo. My tires look nothing like that, though. :)

Thanks to Mazda, Al and the others for pushing the forum and its look forward.

It sure is difficult to read the black heading and category titles against a dark grey background. Any logical reason for this -- except to make things less legible and less accessible?

IMHO this is an unnecessary and unjustified step backward --the triumph of presumed "design" over function -- other words, the anthesis of the "Seven" philosophy.

The other changes I've seen so far look fine.

looks good...needs a little more blue to pull off the 'USA' theme. Right now I'd say its just "US" :p

I like the non-adsense advertising. Makes the site seem more like a clubsite for some reason.

I'll correct one sentence of my critique, which should have read:

IMHO this is an unnecessary and unjustified step backward --the triumph of presumed "design" over function -- in other words, the antithesis of the "Seven" philosophy.

There, I've said (and written) what I think, and I feel better now...

Heh, we drove poor Gabe crazy with our red/white/blue theme. In the end we went back to his original design because nothing seemed "right". It wasn't for a lack of trying.

Are you seeing black text somewhere? Please let me know... I went through to make sure there was switched over from black text.

I like the change, classy. How bout adding the address that is at the top USA7s etc at the bottom of the page as well as the top like locostusa so we don't have to scroll back to the top of the page to go back?

Weird. All the text for me is white.

Do you mean this part: "USA7s » General » General Sevens Discussion » Change is in the air..." ?

Yup... I'm wondering if some browsers are caching old images and stylesheets. The forum *should* look like this:

If it does not, let me know.

I like it! I can see the text on my laptop without going and looking for my grandpa goggles.

Of course, there always has to be one bad "Apple" in the basket. :D

Tom, you may have tools/content/colors set to override the site's text color in your browser.
