BobDrye
Thank you all for your support, cheers and excitement. To clarify some things: I am the 3rd woman in the top 10, 2 woman in the top 5 and top 3. A female named Jean won several years with her male co driver. They placed first. However, NONE of them did it in an open cockpit car! None of them had to brave the elements, find fuel in out of the way places, and absolutely NONE of them won in a car that their husband built with his own hands! (I am so proud of him). Also, we are the first 4 cylinder car to be on the podium, the first alternatively fueled car to be in the top 10, the first open cock pit car to be in the top 10, the first hand made car to be in the top 10, ... am I forgetting anything. Kiki is a great gal but she borrowed her car from Noble. Kevin and I braved the elements together and with good wishes from guys like you, our family and friends, we were able to take 3rd place! We would also like to thank everyone who showed up to cheer us on - Barb and Chuck, Loren, Bob, Robert and Gary! Thank you sooooo much! That was so cool having you guys there! It really helped draw attention to what an awesome car the 7 is. Michelle: In case you’re not aware of it, you and 7evin have a very positive effect on the people around you. It's a "great feeling" to be able to call you friends. http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/28042132_1233_hand_clapping.gif

M. Harmony
Yeah! The results are now posted at: www.onelapofamerica.com How cool is that! Silly sweet! Here is an example of how wet it was at Texas World Speedway. We are still looking to find Kevins pic where he created a 30 foot rooster tail behind him. Stay tuned! http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1486629798_tws challenger.jpg

7evin
WOW.... Thank you all for so much wonderful support. 7s ROCK !!!!!!! I have to keep pinching myself to make sure this is real... Sorry I have not responded before now. We had to drive to Michigan on Sunday to do some testing on the car at Wheel to Wheel on Monday. We thought we were having drive slippage or possibly belt slippage. Come to find out on their calibrated Dyno Mojito is making 381 hp to the wheels. No belt or drive slippage. Big relief. We drove from Detroit to Atlanta got in at 6:30 am and have to leave tonight for Orlando :7drive: for a green earth expo where Mojito will be on center stage for 4 days. I have to say thanks to Brian Anderson for building such an incredible car. My Team mate Loren for keeping me locked in his shop for 8 weeks and coming up with some of the most innovative ideas to go faster and faster. And for keeping everyone up to date. (this list could go on and on) Chuck and Barb, for all the great tech advice, support and the spare diff. (thank goodness we did not need it) Paul for being that smiling face that drove for hours to cheer us on. Bob for helping me with the pump issue and allowing me to be the first person to ride in his monster creation. That thing is part drag car.... I thought Mojito was fast... Gary and his friend for their kind words and encouragement. Robert, For taking time out of his busy day and bringing his beautiful car to the reception in Ohio to support us. It must strike fear in our competitor’s hearts when these cars start to gather..... Above all to my beautiful and durable wife who never complained the whole time, no matter how tired, wet and cold she got. Next stop, Button Willow Ca. the Ultimate Track/Green Car Challenge. Wish us luck as we take Mojito into battle against some of the fastest track cars in the USA Cheers and again thank you for all your kind words and support. Stay tuned for more action, same 7s time , same 7s channel. 7evin http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/978645009_kba.jpg

jbanker
Kevin, Michelle and Loren; Congrats on a job well done!! I certainly remember Kevin and Michelle from the 7-7-7 event and have met and known Loren from R N G at Gateway. Kevin and Loren, your attention to detail in the construction of Mojito and past experience with One Lap has paid off in spades. Your efforts can not go un-noticed!!. Kevin and Michelle, your attention to mind, body and spirit proves that if we take care of what the Creator has given us you can endure. We all have thresholds of tolerable physical and mental abuse but you guys made it look easy and I know it was not. Heck, I would have been toast after the first day!! Again, please accept my heartfelt congratulations on a job well done. Hope to meet you guys in person sometime in the near future and Loren I am sure I will see you at R N G again this year. WestTexasS2K
jbanker I defenitely intend on attending R&G 08. I hopefully will have Mojitos not so twin/twin there if I can get it finished in time. Kevin is hoping to bring Mojito as well, but he has the fireball run the previous week. It is going to be very tight but he is planning on attending. Hopefully there will be good attendance with the fuel prices and the economy being in the tank. I really look forward to seeing everyone and looking at the cars. I am going to have to take some driving lessons from Dennis this year. He seems to be running a different line than I was and he was defenitely hauling some serious ass last year. Do you know if John Meyer is attending? Those two guys are the cars to beat. They are wicked fast. They were 4-5 seconds a lap faster than me 2 years ago. I was really was hoping to get close to them last year with the supercharger on before fuel starvation got my motor before the weekend ever got started. I am sure they will be stepping it up a notch again this year. They seem to find ways to shave seconds off every year. I bet Dennis is going to be in the 1.02 range this year. That is going to be a tough time to beat. Hope we can see ya there in Oct.
powderbrake
Kevin, Loren: It would be intersesting to get a short recap of the mods that you made to Mojito. For example , why the three sensors in the exhaust pipe? What blower and accessories did you use? Which tires did you select? What rear end ratio? Etc. locostv8
How happy are you with the Lizard skin, how does it hold up to skuffing?
WestTexasS2K
Locost V8 I was pretty pleases with the lizard skin. It sealed the compartment and reduced hot air flowing thru cracks and seems in the aluminum. It seems to be as effective in reducing the heat as the 1" aircraft insulation that I had installed in my car. Overall I would rate it as a good product. I think maybe combining it with some type of thin light weight foil type insulation with the lizard over the top would be very effective. Jerry. Mojito is pretty much stock 2.2 L engine. We installed the plastic intake insulator gasket and upgraded valve springs and put ARP head studs in it. We are using a Rotrex supercharger which is basicly a belt driver turbo compressor. It is very compact, quite and very effecient. We upgraded to a larger fuel rail and 1000 cc injectors for the increased fuel flow with the E85 also upgraded the fuel regulator to handle the additional flow. We also had to install a stronger clutch and pressure plate to handle the extra power. We are running an STI differential which is an R180 unit with 3.90 gears beefier axles and hubs too. We are using HKS Pro V ecu to control fuel/timing. The 3 o2 sensors are the stock Honda primary, a/f ratio gauge, AF knock amp for the HKS. Other than that its pretty much straight from the junk yard. Stock head/crank/rods/cams/pistons. I did build a 4-2-1 header but not sure if helped or hurt performance. With 381 at the wheels I guess it is working ok. It is nice to have just the single 3" instead of the slip collector that seems to want to leak a little. powderbrake
Loren: It's really not too radical then. Basically stock reciprocating parts. It's sounds so simple when you state it in a paragraph or so, but the execution had to be anything but simple. I imagine getting a good fuel map on E85 took a lot of know-how on the engine management system.

I imagine getting a good fuel map on E85 took a lot of know-how on the engine management system. The engine management and tuning took no know-how. It just took a pocket full of money and Kenny Tran to tune it. Kevin was there for 12 hours over 2 days. Luckily Kenny likes us and cut us a break on the tune but it was still pretty heafty bill. He did two fuel maps one for gasoline and one for E85. We are running two boost levels too. So we just flip a swith when we are running on gasoline and the ecu flips fuel maps and the boost controller changes boost level.
RDROCKT
Oh, I see! Piece of cake! Guess the old saying that the 'best prepared finish best' is still true. Kudos to you, Kevin and Michelle.
7evin
Now that the maps have been built it will just be a matter of plug and play. with a few minor adjustment of course. Kenny Tran is the GURU for bringing it to life. If you are thinking of running E-85 all your parts have to be alcohol compatible Tank,, fuel lines, fuel pumps and all aluminum has to be hard anodized. We are contemplating how to squeeze 315's under the fenders..... Allot of power for 275's
slngsht
everybody keeps telling me my car is over-tired. I'm sure it's true for autox, but it's reassuring to see you guys feel you need more tire.
