slngsht
Too lazy to post pics right now, but we're having a great day. 16 sevens showed up. Weather is partly cloudy, and you feel like it could rain any minute, but it has held off. More to come late tonight.
Jon W.
Andrew and I may a short appearance. More cars arrived after this photo was taken. http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/869044876_2008-05-17-019.jpg The funny looking, little cars attracted considerable attention from the passersby. slngsht
What a fantastic day! Despite looking ominous at times, the weather was perfect. Unlike every other time I've been at Carlisle, the place felt at home. It was nice to have the tent, and have a reunion of sorts with the seven family - talk to all the friends made in the last couple of years, and meet a few new ones, like Dave and Gary. Al, well, I guess this was one last hurrah with the Orange. I really appreciate you letting me drive the car in the burnout contest... that engine sounds awesome against the rev limiter (just in case MoPho is reading :jester:) HUGE Thanks to Nancy for the fantastic grilling work, and to Ava and Elizabeth for helping. Perhaps with a little more persuasion we can talk Bruce and Nancy down to Snowshoe later this year. Alright, on with the pics... http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/710057496_CIMG2474.JPG http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/769632082_CIMG2475.JPG http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1151721287_CIMG2476.JPG http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1227219243_CIMG2477.JPG http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1489988953_CIMG2478.JPG http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/996412601_CIMG2479.JPG http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/659677340_CIMG2480.JPG http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1039818152_CIMG2481.JPG http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/48145785_CIMG2482.JPG http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1699936574_CIMG2483.JPG http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/344410968_CIMG2484.JPG http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/764021769_CIMG2485.JPG http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1305691448_CIMG2489.JPG http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1217257380_CIMG2490.JPG http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/735578275_CIMG2491.JPG http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1071442784_CIMG2492.JPG http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/39222787_CIMG2493.JPG http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/608751859_CIMG2494.JPG http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1171358111_CIMG2495.JPG http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/871976333_CIMG2496.JPG http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1179358572_CIMG2497.JPG http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1973849107_CIMG2498.JPG http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1588149767_CIMG2501.JPG http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1547640913_CIMG2502.JPG http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1721976555_CIMG2503.JPG http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1984746265_CIMG2504.JPG

Al N.
Great to see everyone, old friends and new. Kudos to the Ohio contingent (Gary's car is particularly peppy!) and Dave W. for schlepping to Carlisle in their Se7ens despite the weather predictions. I was again reminded of the camaraderie of the USA7s group. Carlisle was a funny venue for us, because I think we're a very "let's drive and not stand around polishing and looking at our cars" bunch but Carlisle is a "stand around polishing and looking" event. But I think everyone had a good time and we met many new faces in addition to putting some faces to forum names. Don't worry Morgan, that orange car you see people working on was not your new car...but its sister car owned by Scott "I don't do the internet" L. Scott's car has an unpainted nose, 13" wheels, and (sigh) the full on Kevlar/Carbon buckets. Thanks a zillion to John V. for coordinating the tent and being his all-around amusing self, to Mazda for all that he does (including bringing the new "Club" bbq grill), Nancy W. for operating said grill, and Nancy, Scott L. and the kids for building the grill while Bob D. and Mazda sorted out Scott's ignition problem. 7-7-7 vets and DC area auto-x stalwarts Mike D. and Norm made it for a few hours...always good to see those guys. And a gentleman named Don drove in a "pre-lit" Westfield (it's in one of the pictures)...beautiful car that I thought was a late Series 1 or early Series 2 until I noticed it was LHD. He was very excited to find out about the club and forum. Oh, and I forgot to mention that Justin Sims of Brunton stopped by earlier in the day...he FTD'd the Auto-X in his Stalker (no surprise, right?). Extra special thanks go to Harold "Purple Se7en" for coming to the aid of a stranded forum member, Fisher Fury owner Dermot, with his truck and trailer. Awesome show of selflessness. southwind25
First we want to thank everyone for being so very welcoming,,,your all a great group of people! We were very glad to finally put some faces to the names here. What great camaraderie! Al...especially we appreciate the time and effort you spent we felt like we belonged here. Next..Gary did you make it home ok?? if you went through what we did you had an experience for sure! As we motored on we saw people off into the trees and ditches. At one point we thought we drove into a lake and the car was engulfed in water. The (thirsty) little x-flow never missed a beat, although it was a litte rough with all the water injection. Saturday night we went for a cruise after dining at Chili's and got lost in town while looking for a local brewery. We ended up somewhere downtown and shared a brew on the sidewalk while it started to rain. The rain came down for about 5 hrs but we were camped on higher ground so it wasnt a problem. What was a problem was the miata doing hot laps in the rain around our tent at 2:00 am.. We awoke to some sun, but just long enough to break camp and take a shower...we should have waited and just washed up on the way home! The SAAB tent was now holding the people that couldnt stagger back to there hotels. Carlisle was a great experience, and something we will want to do again... http://usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/837216030_100_0175.JPG
gjslutz
What a great weekend, I was able to put some faces on some of the folks from the web site. All fantastic folks, some even more twisted than me. Al’s two girls were very enjoyable. Bob & Mazda lead the pack from the far side, wild creations they have built. I had a great time, and much like Run & Gun last fall didn’t meet any I didn’t enjoy being around. I’m looking FWD to the next event. With fewer trucks as well as cars and somewhat less rain my trip back was 4:20 back with one stop. The trip over was 5:10 with 2 stops. The TOYO R888 is great dry, good on wet, but quite dangerous in any standing water 1/8” & less. If you detect any shine from the road, hold on. They state the same on their sales info, I expected no less. Any future trips that could be wet will be on my RT-615s. I would not want to be in the right on either direction. I hope all made it safely home and enjoyed this as much as me. Bob, yes I made it home, wet and also did float some from the roads, but as stated above with less people on the roads I had more than one lane to use. I was home @ 10:48, and was able to have some quality family time. Gary
ottocycle
Hello guys, I want to add my 2c worth to the kudos due to Al and Mazda. A great event, although the time devoted to the Fury precluded me from mixing with all of you that I would have liked. (All the more reason to make it to the next gathering). Mazda, thanks for the ride to find the part and a special thanks to Harold for picking a stranger up with his trailer. Also, Bruce, it was great to meet you and your understanding wife. Cheers- Dermot.
BobDrye
Bob's turbo car is awesome! I want to know where those headlight assemblies came from. Any info? They are Meyers snow plow lights. I think that there were 4 cars on Friday. Gary "Bullet" and I went to dinner together. He has more interesting car and airplane stories than time would allow. Robert/Mary have the brightest yellow 7 that I have ever seen. Seeing all of the 7s together was great, but it was the reunion of friends that I enjoyed the most. Hal still needs some help with his charging system. Can anyone post a diagram of a Ztec charging system? Maz says that we could meet at his place for breakfast sometime in June. :7head:

xflow7
We were covering the dents in the bodywork :hurray: What a pleasure to meet everyone on Saturday! I think the only person I'd met before was Al, so it was great to put so many more names/nicknames/avatars with faces. That's not to mention all the great looking Sevens! Nice turnout from the bare ali/green fender brigade! :jester: Though not optimal, the weather really didn't turn out to be a problem for me. Cold and foggy on the way down (but not wet) mild rain while camping Saturday night and only light showers on the way back up. Kept thinking about putting the top back down on Sunday, but figured as soon as I did it would start dumping. Anyway, thanks to the club organizers for putting together a great event and building the club. Over 700 forum members now is astonishing. Looking forward to seeing many of you again and events in the future. Dave
