Martin,

Locost 5.0 shot this for me. I'm sure it's alright. I think it would be kind of cool for a calendar as it has my street car and Kevin's race car (though technically his is a street car too).

Some good pictures of nice cars.

This was taken at the Indianapolis Lotus Owners Gathering autocross (LOG 28). I am very happy to report that I didn't have the slowest time! I like this photo because of the reflections on the polished aluminum and the obvious weight transfer. I do look a bit grim and I am disappointed with how my self painted helmet looks but maybe I will try another paint scheme this year.

The photo was taken by a professional who then sells the resutlts www.jwwphotos.com I expect that the photographer holds the copyright.

FWIW the three photos I posted were taken by me in Bozeman MT during spring and summer of 2008. If they are useful for the calendar please feel free to take them

Two of my favorites:

The first at speed on the "longest straight away" in North America at BIR. Taken by my wife.

The second taken in the garage - I call it "The Need for Speed"

Are you sure about that? Most of the time when you buy photos from a photographer it doesn't automatically grant you rights to do as you please with them unless he/she specified in the agreement that you can reproduce them for things like calenders, etc.

jeez, would nay be a photographer would ya now Jimmy ?

It's not the new Paris fashion shoot.

and if you want to really pick bones..

I notice that every post you do includes and promotes your internet biz site... is that correct ? personally I don't care but I think you are being trivial and somewhat hypocritic..

I mean come on 99% of the pics out there on these cars were taken by someone else, I know if you want to get down to the last legal tech point all of the original owners could stake a claim , but come on, lighten up a bit, this is a site for sharing.. right?

Well, in defense of MoPho (who is a professional photographer) he just stated an opinion if you want to publish pictures in a calendar made by some other professional outfit that USA7s might run afoul the law. He did not talk anything about his own business so why attack him for good advice?

I don't mind him posting his professional web site URL. Has some very nice pics in it and I doubt that he is doing that here on USA7s to gain business (tights farts that we are....).

Was not an attack at all, just thought he was over the top, again we all have opinions and are individuals ( hence the 7) so I do not want to drag this out.

Happy New Year .

But I am right.;)

A couple of shots from first autox, at the West Coast Lotus Meet in October in Canyonville, Or.

I think it was wet that day !! http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1311880711_autox2.jpghttp://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1088165002_autox6.jpg

It was definately wet but still had a great time. Took about three days to clean and dry out the inside of the car. Tach and Speedo took about 3 weeks for the moisture to dissipate from inside the faces.

The pic I posted from the 777 Tail of The Dragon USA7s cruise was purchased from Killboy.com, who included a copyright notice on the cd they supplied. It grants private use rights, but asks they be contacted for commercial use. I contacted them and they were happy to grant approval for the useage on the web site and on a calendar, as long as they are credited with the pic.

But I am right.

As I read it, MoPho's post advised to double-check what was actually purchased, and then stated a relevant fact. Your reply reads as an unnecessarily forceful response to me. Also, I recall reading somewhere that unless otherwise specified, the rights to a photographic image generally belong to the creator of the image, not the owner of the object being photographed. But hey, you were right about the Paris fashion shoot part! :D

Thanks Jerry,

I think your post, as well as Mopho's, answer the question. If the pic is from a third party, permission must be granted before it becomes a part of the calendar.
