scannon
It hit 70F in the Denver area today, high 60s for the previous two days so I had both Miatas and the Caterham out for blats. Shoulder surgery tomorrow and the doc says no Caterham for about a year, Miata maybe in 6 months. Not the 3 - 4 month recovery I had been hearing from others who had rotator cuff surgery. So for 3 days I have been storing up grins and memories to last a year. Hope I survive long enough to drive the Caterham again. MHKflyer52
Hi Skip, I had mine done Dec 14,2007 and I was driving my 7 within 4 months after the operation. Shoulder works a lot better that it did for a very long time. Now after a year I do not even think about it and everything is normal like my shoulder was twenty years ago. Make sure you do the PT for the shoulder as it helps a lot. My doc had me in for PT after 7 days just to start making it work again. Also make sure your doctor give you a sleep aid to help the first week or so as getting a good night sleep was the hardest thing the first month for me and others I have talked to that had the same operation. Good Luck and keep us posted once your able too.

Kitcat
I had left shoulder impingement surgery (shaved excess bone away) 10 years ago. Recovery took 4 months. I was a one armed bandit for 2 months. Amazing how many things you need 2 arms for. PT was slow and painful but worth it. Recovery time seems to be proportionate to PT effort. Shoulder has been like new since. No more waking up in pain after 2 hours sleep, etc. Good luck! Mike Mooney
gjslutz
Skip, Best wishes for a speedy recovery. From what others have said it could be sooner than expected before you are in the driver’s seat again. I would think you will find a long list of friends willing to take you out in your 7 to keep your smile glowing:) Remember the movie line “wax on wax off”, that could possibly be great hands on PT. With no medical knowledge or experience on my part, it is another grain of salt. Gary

scannon
I'm back home after a night in the hospital and a night with friends. The surgery went well and the doc was able to reattach both tendons. So now starts a long, slow recovery, 11 weeks with my right arm immobilized in a sling and a year to full recovery. The pain is manageable but boredom is likely to be more of a problem. Not being able to drive the 7 this summer will be worst of all. Skip
