slngsht Posted March 1, 2009 Author Posted March 1, 2009 Rob, where are you going to see these posts?
jbanker Posted March 1, 2009 Posted March 1, 2009 Mazda, Nice job on the forum update. lots of features and easy to use. This format is being used by most of the forums that I frequent. Jack
powderbrake Posted March 1, 2009 Posted March 1, 2009 I have a question on display options. each time I go to a section, for example "General Sevens Discussion" and click on it, the threads are displayed as "sorted by thread title" "sort order ascending". So I change that to "sorted by last post time" and "descending", so it is like the original forum. But it wont stay that way :( The next time I open the forum, I am presented with it sorted by thread title. Is there a way to lock in my preferences?
JohnCh Posted March 1, 2009 Posted March 1, 2009 Jerry, User CP is your friend. Click that, then Edit Options in left hand navigation and scroll down to the Thread Display Options section. There is a drop down box that will let you change how the threads are displayed. -John

I thought I set up the default to sort by date.
scannon Posted March 1, 2009 Posted March 1, 2009 hmmm... anyone else experience this? I thought I set up the default to sort by date. I did but went looking in the CP and found the settings Jerry mentioned. No problems since. Skip

I even erased my cookies & temp internet files, and re-logged on, but it still does the same thing. I am going to redefine the problem. I found out that all the thread groups, like General Tech, or Cars for Sale-Wanted, work OK, and show up with the last post at the top.....EXCEPT General Sevens Discussion. whenever I click on it , it comes up as "sorted by thread title, ascending" and if I change it , and leave, then return to General Sevens Discussion, it defaults back to "sorted by thread title ,ascending" The other thread groups do not reset themselves, they work OK. Wierd eh? Edited March 1, 2009 by powderbrake

solder_guy Posted March 2, 2009 Posted March 2, 2009 If you go to the highest page number of oldest threads .. there are a bunch of empty threads which are dated 1969?? Rob
slngsht Posted March 2, 2009 Author Posted March 2, 2009 If you go to the highest page number of oldest threads .. there are a bunch of empty threads which are dated 1969?? Rob strange. looks like the last page or so of threads.
Croc Posted March 3, 2009 Posted March 3, 2009 I like the new look but I have one question - A very long post of mine with 2 doc attachments on registering Sevens in NJ looks to have been truncated on conversion and dropped the nj regs file. I got an email from a user asking about it. Does the new bulletin board limit length and attachments now? I have the post in a word doc anyway so no harm....
slngsht Posted March 3, 2009 Author Posted March 3, 2009 Croc, the attachments were one of the things that I could not port over to the new forum. I do still have them with the old software if it's something that is not recoverable.
Croc Posted March 3, 2009 Posted March 3, 2009 Thanks Mazda - I figured it was "one of those things" on the conversion. No need to worry since I had the post and the attachments on the pc so no loss. Thanks for your efforts! Cheers mike
slngsht Posted March 4, 2009 Author Posted March 4, 2009 ok with the nice winter project. get work on the 7. yeah, every night i don't do SOMETHING to it is a night wasted
powderbrake Posted March 8, 2009 Posted March 8, 2009 Help, I don't know how to insert a pic. When I click on "insert image" I get a box to "type in the URL orf my image" I was looking for a way to upload it from my computer, like the old forum software. I can upload a pic as an attachment. Is this the only way?
