scannon
I got a ride in this one a few years ago. Powered by a 400 HP Cadillac engine it performed much better than I expected. It was the Barret Jackson poster car the year Phil bought it.
11Budlite
Looks like the Allard MkII featured in the R&T "Hail Brittania" article: http://www.roadandtrack.com/special_feature/hail-britannia/page_2_-_allard_motor_works_j2x_mkii_page_2 A nicely updated Allard with a modern drivetrain, and more importantly, an updated suspension design. I'd love to take it for a spin!! Skip, that must have been fun! Edited June 26, 2010 by 11Budlite update
yellowss7
I know why Roman thinks it's sevenish, that last picture of the Red Allard's dash and Cowl is VERY similar to Roman's. (Roman Post a pic of your dash to confirm) Tom

scannon
Before I posted the pictures of the red one I kept going back and forth between the two cars. I had the feeling that the black one looked slightly different and suspected it was a replica. BTW, that home behind the red car is actually a place to keep his cars. Other than a kitchen and bathroom on the main floor, the floor space is one large L shaped room with about a dozen cars in it. The basement is also full of cars and is accessed from the rear of the building via a short ramp to a window which leads onto a short four post lift with raises and lowers the cars to the basement floor. The owner lives next door in an almost identical home, at least from the outside. The city wouldn't let him build a shop or anything other than a home so he built this one. The first picture is one leg of the L which would have been the living room. The other two are in the basement. The area where the Elva sits is a nicely appointed workshop. yellowss7
I always thought that this car has a similar "sevenish" look. Not a bad design for 1937. Well then again, if not "sevenish" it certainly is pretty. Tom

yellowss7
Martin, you are correct it is indeed a Jaguar SS100. It's an original 1937 2.5 liter. Unfortunately it is not mine, but a good friends. It's is VERY nice. And he drives it a little. Talk about attracting attention, it gets more waves than even the 7. :cooldude: I've been in it for a couple of drives and it's a blast. I worked with this guy for 20 years, he was the Benefits Manager for the company I worked for. Below is the link for his newest project. He's building a Jaguar XJ13 that will be powered by a Hydrogen fuel cell, driving an electric motor and 22 batteries. http://www.z-type.net/home.html I've told him that it's a travesty not to have a Jag V12 in it, But He's into this electric vehicle thing. You'd like this guy Martin, he's a real builder like you. Tom
