So Mazda what is up with Frankin7?

Recommended Posts

There is a pending deal to sell it to Arya - he has to get around looking it over and decide if the damage is any more than we've seen so far. He has a couple of other projects (house and trailer related) ahead of it.

If he takes it, he will fix it up, or use its components on another seven, and the car will stay in the family (It'll be my turn to borrow it from him). I'm planning on building a mid bike engined A mod car for fun.

If he does not take it, I will fix the frame and continue to enjoy it.

That's the plan so far

Well glad to hear your going to keep in in the family and eventually fix it.

So a mid bike engined A mod car....it will not be street legal or will it when your finished buildingit.

You know Mazda if your out this way you can always take my car for a drive as that is the least I can do for you.

Martin, hopefully I can make it out there in the next year or so. I really enjoyed the couple of days out there on my way to and from Sydney. Beautiful area.

The A mod car will be for autox only.

I have purchased the motor and have a basic design in mind, but have not gone any further. Need to finish my CNC router, and reorg the garage - Too many things going on to really focus on it.

Oh man, Mazda! I've been off the radar for a while with a move, new job, etc. and had to go hunting to find out what this was all about.

I felt awful reading about the incident and seeing the pictures. Very relieved that you came away unscathed, though. In any case, best of luck with whatever path forward you choose. I'm sure you'll come back with something amazing and I look forward to seeing it!

I'm up in Vermont now. Roughly halfway up the state and right on the NH border. It's a beautiful area, but I haven't been able to much exploring in the Seven yet - a combination of a loooong winter and "mud season", and the fact that for the time being I have to keep the car several miles away from home which makes it less convenient to just hop in for a blat.

Life is good, though. Enjoying the change of pace.

Doubt I'll make it down to Carlisle this year, but hopefully we can catch up at some event or other.

Go looking for the Kancamagus Highway in NH. Plenty of other roads which are spectacularly suited to a seven. It is a gorgeous part of the US.

I live right in the Rt-5 / I-91 corridor so I've already seen that there will be some good exploring there and WMNF isn't too far either so I'll go looking for Kancamagus too.

I'm already planning to be at Lime Rock for the vintage races over Labor Day. Will be looking for other regional events as well as time allows. Thanks for the tip about NELLI.

Anyway, apologies for thread-hacking. We now return you to your regularly scheduled programming....

regularly scheduled programming is about my wrecked car and how much work is ahead. Let's talk about all the fine roads in Vermont instead. LOL
