Michael:

I think your scale wld be of use to others but my Caterham has non-adjustable shock perches, so ride height, weight balance, etc., is fixed. I did have it weighed with me in it once, out of curiosity, and it was very close to perfect.

Maybe Proj217 cld use them tho, his car's handling is totally screwed up.

My car just got back from the shop and, per a brief blat, is running great again, so hopefully the rough running engine problem has been cured, well see. They replaced spark plugs, tuned and balanced carbs, reset timing, replaced alternator belt, adjusted the valves. The engine feels, sounds and runs better. And makes power differently. Now much more power up top, low end has been sacrificed a bit (no loss).

Since the car is back, I will try to get/post ride ht #'s, front & back for proj217.

I get 6 1/2 inches from the center of the front of the frame to the floor, 6 3/4" from the center of the rear of the frame to the floor (on a floor that probably isn't totally level so I wldnt be surprised if the rear is actually 6 1/2").

Does anybody know if there are specific requirements for helmet specifications for this event?

I just checked both my helmets and neither are Snell marked. My sparco open face is UK RAC MSA (FIA spec) badged but it does not appear to have any Snell markings

Both helmets are pristine so I hate to go and buy another but figure I might have to depending on the regs.

Thanks

Stewart

Thank you kind sir!

Ya know I'm QUITE excited to be going to this track day. Beyond just to experience a new track (2 actually) it is going to be damn awesome to be on track with all these different 7s at the same time and talk with you guys.

You have the same problem I had. My Aussie helmet had no snell marking as it is a North America thing (it had Standards Australia SA reference) so I needed to buy a new one. Unlike you, my old helmet was due for replacement. NJMP also has a full face helmet policy only (no open faces permitted at all) and SA2000. So even if SCDA says ok, NJMP can still say no. So I ended up at Stable Energies near Hackensack to buy a new one.

Your best argument is to show FIA compliance as that is international but I would start with Ian at SCDA before the event.

Great News Michael. 2 weeks to go and we have a real shot at 10 sevens on track at the same time if the guys I talked to can make it. Add the few that will attend but not track and it will be a great turn out.

I spent the weekend driving the Lightning course at NJMP with the Philly PCA group. Had a great time.

I let the chief instructor take out the Caterham with the Black run group and it was fun to watch him kick the GT3's in the corners and keep right up on the straights!!! I drove like a grandmother most of the time though...

I spoke with Dermot McDermott today. He is still trying to adjust his schedule to come up on Sunday with his Fury.

I am lining up my gear to go to Hyperfest at Summit Point on Friday.

Yeah, I'm hoping to do either Friday or Saturday on Thunderbolt, weather being the determining factor. Karl if you want to get a day in on Thunderbolt, How's this Saturday work for you? I can get you in on the members day.

Hello guys,

Just a quick note to say I signed up this evening and spoke with Ian, the organizer of the event. A very nice guy. He said they have 9 Sevens in the intermediate group and he thinks they will be full by tomorrow (so if you are on the fence now is the time to deceide).

I am looking forward to meeting you all and thanks to Michael D for reminding me about the event.

Dermot.

Heretic 1300.

Great Dermot! I've got two more Seven owners on the hook still so there is still hope that we can get to and even 10 sevens on the track together.

Add in a few others that may come out to watch and it's shaping up to be a great event.

There is a Texas Roadhouse restaurant near the track in Millville that could be a dinner option on Sunday or Mondya night. Any other suggestions?

Sounds great. Mike and Scott have one of the suites at the track and I am hoping to mooch a couch off someone (I will chip in ,of course) who has space, otherwise I will get a room nearby. If we do dinner at the steakhouse Sunday, it might be nice to do a group buy for a cookout at the track Monday night if possible. Do they have any BBQ facilities?
