NJMP trackday less than a week away

I managed to get some time off from work, so I will be heading down later this afternoon. If anyone would like to split the cost of a room, let me know. Worst case scenario, I will be packing a tent. I think there is camping on site. Unfortunately, I have been trying to get a clutch for my car and planned on putting the engine back in last night, but for some reason, the standard Ford Focus 2 liter clutch doesnt fit, so I will be coming down on either my motorcycle or by car. Just glad to get the time off to hang out with you guys and help out with whatever needs to be done. Cell#(551 427 3829) See you guys soon.

Karl, I just finished packing the Truck, I'm going to go get my trailer, bring it home and load up the Caterham and I should be on the road by 1pm.

See you around 2:30pm

Beer is on Ice for when you finish the last session.

I think Croc is planning on getting there around 3pm too. The Party is going to be in full swing in a few hours.

Any one else coming out? Steve? Box?

I'm sure we will post some photo's tonight. Stay tuned!

Well, we all got here safely. Had a few beers after Karl finished running with the Porsche club this afternoon.

Dinner at the club house was fairly civil. Croc must be pretty tired as he is a bit off his game. I think he might be a Poser with that pretty new CSR. It's just a shame that he doesn't have the nice carbon cosworth cam cover that Karl has on his. It would have looked nice.:nopity:

Kitcat, trailered in with his new VW TDI and new trailer from Cincy. He wins the longest tow award at over 11 hours.

Scott drove his up from Maryland. in a convoy with Michael D. and Ottocycle, (Dermott).

Stewart rolled in in time to join us for dinner. And Jack, (JbVette) is here as well even though his 7 is not due to a mis fitting clutch plate.

We start off with registration and tech, tomorrow morning at 7am.

We should get plenty of video, as Croc, Mike D. Me and Carl all have cameras mounted on our roll bars. Plus we have two hand held video cams that we will have taking track side shots as well.

S1 Steve, is going to join us in the morning for the day. So it's going to be a fun day. I'm sure will try to post pictures a little later or tomorrow after the session. Stay tuned.

Oh dear...the posting of upside down pics is symptomatic of Tom failing to have his mid-afternoon old persons nap. And he says I am off my game...hello!

:D

Also the carbon cam cover joke is pretty old now. For those confused, I ordered a carbon cam cover from Reverie. When I rang to inquire about it I was told it had already shipped to NJ to me. They confused me with Karl who shares the same last name as me and had placed an order at the same time. So he has "my" cam cover - and it looks very nice too!

For those stopping by, I have reserved garage G113 at Thunderbolt for us for the two days. Five sevens fit into 1 garage just fine. Won't get much use tomorrow as we are over at Lightning but we will be back at the days end and will be perfect for day 2.

I am looking forward to taking my show pony on the track for the first time today.

:D

I am looking forward to taking my show pony OFF the track for the first time today.

Fixed that for you Mike. :jester:

Mike must think that since he has the motor from a ford ranger truck that his new CSR is an off road vehicle.

He's probably out there in the garage right now hosing it off. It's pretty dusty right now. :smilielol5:

Looks like you had a good time and a nice number of 7's at the track.

Got a kick out of the photo of the Boss Mustang with the BLUE FLAME TAPE JOB.....must have added 100lbs to the weight of the car from thelooks of it's stance in the last photo......just kidding he must be under braking or the rear is all jacked up.....

Thanks for the photos.

Fantastic two days. Thanks to Tom for organizing the event. I vote to make it an annual event with even more Sevens and seven minded people.

I had been trying to get to NJMP since it opened. Now, in one trip I got to drive both tracks with a bunch of Sevens who were all outstanding drivers and great company. The tracks seemed made for a Seven. They were simply a blast to drive.

The only bummer was that my camera did not record anything.

Mike, thanks for the exciting OFF. I was only two cars behind you I thought it was a very well ececuted lesson in car control. Thanks again for the demo.

I got nailed by the storm that was comming in. It pi**ed down. 65 mph traffic slowed to 45 due to bad visibility.

Tom, thanks from me too. It was great to meet all you guys, I had a blast. It was a new track for me and I liked it a lot. I agree with Michael D, lets make it an annual event.

Mike, I did not realize you rented the garage. Thanks for sharing it. It was very handy. You have a lovely car. Perhaps if I put a turbo on mine I might be able to hang with you long enough to see how it looks on track!!!!

Tom, we are looking forward to the video you and your cousin put together.

Thanks to everyone for making me feel welcome and I look forward to meetimg you all next time.

Cheers-

Dermot.

I thought I did a well executed stuff up. I was probably lucky I did not dig two wheels in and roll it. I only got the car back under control when it decided to go back on the track and I could reverse the spin. I had no idea where you guys where thanks to my smoke screen....err....dust cloud raised by the spin.

We also have a few posts and pics here in a pic thread:

I definitely want to do this next year - It was a great time.
