Here is Stewart holding off the Cadillac CTS V. I nearly wore the rear bumper of this Caddy trying to get past with non-existent point bys.

As Al Navarro said on the day, "You look like you are dressed for an office meeting" Pah! Who needs a fancy set of racing overalls when you are going to be faster than the fancy show ponies!

Hmmm....A little too much shoulder movement from me:

I liked exiting this corner on to the straight - I could really put the power down catch up on people:

This pic summed up the day at Lightning - a gaggle of sevens and a Fisher Fury beating up some poor Corvette:

Why is it that Tom is always at the back of group photos? Does he like looking at rear ends?

And some gratuitous pics of me - I look sooooo good :cooldude: (LOL)

That picture is coming off the last turn, onto the front straight. Michael D. in the lead allows the young Kid in the car with too much hp to pass him and although he's strong on the straights, like the young kid he is, his balls are bigger than his brain.

3 turns later he's in the dirt.:willy_nilly::ack:. Caught on camera. The unedited video doesn't lie.

I was just hanging back to avoid the enevitable carnage.

Great photos, I especially like the one of the 3 Mikes:)!

Seeing my head poking up to my roll-over bar tells me the next car upgrade has to be lowered floors.

Funny that Tom's $11 internet cameras were the most reliable! Is there going to be an official "NJMP video" thread? I cant wait to see what my camera caught.

Was there any car in our run group faster than our cars? I let a new M3 by, and a white Porsche GT3 but that was it in 2 days, except for other se7ens. By the time I finally figured out the track I think I was faster than the M3. Croc, did anyone get by you when you were actually trying?

Was the car wreck on NJ Turnpike rain related? Did it rain at the track in the afternoon?

Oh yeah...so it is...it was when I was on my charge. :o

Was it a mushroom cloud of dust? :D

We had the fastest cars in the intermediate group. When I decided to really go for it in the 2nd and 3rd sessions at Lightning I reeled everything in shockingly quick. I passed the M3, GT3, Caddy CTS-V and every Corvette several times over the 2 days. I have never before driven a car so much faster than others around it on a track. I am still in awe of the car's abilities and take no credit for my effort.

I would go as far to say MichaelD was probably second fastest. Little hard to tell after that although I think your laptimes would have not been much slower than anyone else's.

It is not clear what caused the wreck on the NJ Turnpike. I would not be surprised if the rain was the cause. It ended up raining at the track around 2pm I think.

PM me your email and I will send you the higher resolution file of the 3 sevens.

great pics guys. Its only a 9 hour drive from where I am....maybe next year

9 hours is a long drive but we would love to have you. Mike and Stewart did not give up much speed (if at all) by having crossflows. It can only be more fun with more sevens. Ian Prout of SDCA put on a great event and said he wants us back again.

My Chase came did not work on either day. I did take a few photos though.

BTW: Mike thank you for sharing your garage with all of us. Yes, the rain came to the track at exactly 2:00 PM, just in time for for our track session.

Tom and I waited patiently as the water got deeper and deeper. 25 minutes later it stopped raining and we left for a dry drive home.

Can't wait to get together again.

I had a great time on Monday meeting everyone for the first time. It's a great bunch of guys and cars. Too bad we are so spread out. The cars were stunning on and off the track. Next time I plan to be ready to run my car with the group. It was quite a site watching 7 sevens out on the track together making havoc with the slower traffic! Well done all. And the best part was everyone went home still running. Woo Hoo! Can't get much better than that.

Here are a couple more pics. My wife was shooting pics and video like crazy with a new camera, unfortunately many of them were not quite in focus. She took lots of video. If I can get myself set up on youtube I'll send the links.

Thanks to all for making Monday a fantastic day out, the drivers and spectators were a great group. A special shout out to Mike (croc) for encouraging participation, for lending a space in his garage overnight. Thanks to Jack (jvbtte) for organizing and sharing a room and helping out throughout the day and also to the classroom instructor for predicting the exact nature and location of my minor grassy excursion 30 minutes before it happened and for providing the correct instructions for a somewhat graceful re entry onto the black stuff.

My first visit to a track in nearly a decade (and it showed), but I had an absolute blast. First time ever on properly banked corner, what a hoot…. but despite lots of laps of getting a little faster each time I still didn't have the courage to push to the limits.

Running out of puff at the end of the straight suggested a need for a bit more grunt from the motor but hunting down nearly new technology (Corvettes, Miata’s, Honda's etc.) with an engine designed in the 50s and built in the 80s was extremely gratifying.

If I manage to figure out the technology there should be a couple of pictures posted of the car collection at Lightning on Monday.

Cheers

Stewart

Yes I hav to admit to more than 1/2 of the car on the grass after the blind crest right handed (can't remember the corner number). Turned in too late, missed the apex and ran out of road on the other side but I rather fortuitously left must of the rocks off the track afterwards....:)

Cheers
