lucky dawg
I just got notice (and an invoice) from Caterham USA that the factory has advised my CSR is in the build/built stage and will go to the shipper soon. Assuming that I got the paint codes right, it will be very dark purple with a light gold nose and bonnet stripe. So, just a month to get here and a few weeks to build it and then its http://csr.informe.com/forum/images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gifhttp://csr.informe.com/forum/images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gifhttp://csr.informe.com/forum/images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif for me. Can't wait, can't wait, can't wait.
JohnCh
Hmm... Given your location, user name, and color scheme, I'm guessing you aren't a WSU booster. :jester: -John
yellowss7
Enjoy!!! I remember picking my boxes up at customs here in Philly, 12 years ago. I give you less than an hour after arrival to be sitting in it making Vroom Vroom sounds. :smilielol5: (It takes a while to uncrate) The other bet is how many parts are missing.:deadhorse:After all these years, the factory still doesn't have a good inventory/packing process, or at least they didn't 12 years ago. Have fun, take lots of pics and Make Blat Chat your home page. The lotus7 club of GB is a Phenomenal resource for any issues you need resovled. Tom My wife came into the garage one time when I was in my Dodge making engine sounds. Didn't phase her a bit, figured better engine sounds here than other noises somewhere else. It's the BRG and yellow I wouldn't be able to stomach:ack: (no offense meant for traditionalists not affiliated with UO).
Kitcat
Randy Chase, who is the new Caterham dealer on the West Coast has posted on anther forum abt how many missing parts/wrong parts his Cat kits have come with. All remedial, just frustrating.

lucky dawg
Apparently my CSR, and 5 other US bound Caterhams, are now in a shipping container at the factory waiting to be picked up and taken to the port. Should happen sometime within the next six hours to six weeks. I'm still looking forward to Summer blats, though now won't be as many this Spring as I had hoped for. Its like having a kid, except the big checks are written during the nine month wait and then slow down after arrival.

JohnCh
Someone clearly isn't familiar with the unfortunate disease that accompanies se7en ownership: upgradeitis. It isn't as costly as kids, but if you do things right, it's close -John

My recollection is that idea didn't go over so well with the kid.
lucky dawg
I'm sure it will come as a shock to you that the Caterham delivery is running behind schedule (Really, an English sports car? They are usually so reliable!). Apparently four of the six cars in the shipment have been crated and the other two will happen shortly, then off to America. Now looking at a mid-July delivery and then assembly time. That should should still give me six to ten weeks of good driving weather. No doubt all the waiting will be forgotten and forgiven a few miles into the first drive.
blubarisax
Delays? That's very shocking... Good luck with the build. Get ready to become friends with the "Shortages Department" for all the bits that did not come with the kit.
lucky dawg
My belief is that the delays are to make sure that all the parts are included. It's nice to have a dream.
jeffs
Well, the race is now on. I just ordered a mini as my new 'practical' car. The mini is in queue to be built and then shipped, the caterham waiting to be shipped and then built. I think we all know which one is likely to win the race
lucky dawg
That will likely be the last time a Mini beats a 7.
jeffs
LOL, that's certainly true. I'm just hoping one of them shows up before my Sept track day.
