This DMV office gave me til the end of January on a temporary. Woohoo.

Yeah, I got the application form with sequence # written on it. I called BAR and they told me Sacramento has to mail it to me.

This baby will be going to the track (willow springs maybe) hopefully within 6 months.

This picture keeps me motivated

When I registered mine in April of this year I was able to complete the process with the sequence form given to me at my first DMV visit. To date I haven't received any further docs in the mail from DMV.

I did get a 90 day temp permit that allowed me to drive the car to the CHP and BAR station.

However it goes for you now the tough part is over.

It's weird right? Everyone just tries to help each other. I've not experienced that on any other forum. Usually it's just a bunch of "mine is bigger than yours" or even worse "my friends is bigger than yours". :grouphug:

Part of that is maybe that many active participants actually know each other, be it personally or by direct email. People are just more reasonable when you know you are going to meet potential flaming targets at the next track day. The few trolling cases we had in the past did not find much resonance and went away after a while.

Gert,

I'll second your analysis of why this forum can be so darned helpful.

In addition to track days, the opportunity for a wide range of 7 owners to get to know each other through organized blats and similar adventures (Tail of the Dragon, Black Hills Tour, Grizzly Bear Blat, etc.) should be mentioned.

(Just a plug for USA7ers to start making plans for the Polar Bear Blat from Vancouver, BC to Anchorage, Alaska in August 2015....!). It should be an epic adventure worthy of the group, the cars, and the scenery.

Getting these cars on the road is definitely a team effort. Skip (scannon) was always at the ready to assist when I was going through the hurdles to get my car street legal last September. If it wasn't for Skip, it probably would have taken a lot more time and expense to get my VIN assignment.

Congrats Monshoon! I'm hoping to be there shortly, just need my brake and light inspection. Did they give you the plates at the DMV or did they mail them to you?

I thought I was done. Dmv office gave me plates and tags. Then I got a packet from Sacramento saying I needed brake and light inspection and statement of construction. The inspection places refused to take me in out of fear of getting it wrong and losing their license. I didn't know how to fill out the statement d construction because I'm basically the 4th owner w/ no receipts.

So I go back to the DMV today to get direction and at first they just reiterate what they said I needed and said I'd need to buy a bond from an insurance company because I have no receipts .... Then I told them how I have no clue and its been 5 dang months, no other locost people have gone through this etc etc.... He goes and talks to his manager and comes back and says that they are waving those requirements and that they'd finish registration right now.

I have registration in hand and am waiting on title from dmv.

What a wild ride.

I wish I could write something to help people through it, but I honestly don't know what the process will be like for others.

I purchased my Super Stalker ONLY because it was registered, inspected, and titled in New Jersey….I didn't want to go through what Manshoon11 went through and I'm happy I did! BTW #158 Brunton Super Stalker.

DMV played me again. :flag:

To recap. The DMV office (desk guy and manager) said I was complete and didn't need brake and light inspection and that the statement of construction was fine (they filled it out with DMV jargon).

What do I get in the mail?

"incomplete application, go f*** yourself"

I have to conclude that the DMV is just having a great time seeing how long they can draw out this registration. 6 months so far.

I already bought all new lights anyways. The car is at my friend's shop awaiting upgrades. It is going to take 2-3 months before I can "finish" the DMV requirements.

Sorry you're having to endure the DMV nonsense and lack of internal hand-holding. :) . . . :dupe: . . . :cuss: Stay the course; the squeaky wheel gets the grease.
