AndyB
Thanks for the encouragement guys. Some of my concerns are of my own making. The fact I have resisted changing from points and condenser ignition and a manual fuel pump. But those are small items that can be brought on the trip. Suspension, brakes including masters/slave and bearings have been replaced recently. The more I think about it the less I have to worry. Put me down a definite maybe:)
bball7754
Andy - Sounds like you might have a Crossflow? Since Stewart converted to the dark side/BDA, I was the sole Xflow representative last year. Would be great to have company! Steve
Kitcat
I think he runs a Lotus Twin Cam (yr toast Steve:)).
Croc
Since Stewart converted to the dark side/BDA... Come on Steve! Since when has been getting a BDA been going to the dark side? They are not that far removed from each other. They both leak copious amounts of oil like the Exxon Valdez. And they both sound absolutely awesome with some revs!

It's a grenade waiting for a place to explode :smash: And yes it does sound nice above 4000 especially if you feather the gas and it gives it's Mexican fire cracker impression I like to think mine just perspires oil … from every pore. bball7754
Actually, I'm just jealous. Missed out on 2 BD's last year, or I'd be there with Stewart.

xcarguy
Over the last fews day I've been conversing with Croc (and yellowss7) about my possibly coming up for the event; pending working out an overlapping family event planned during the same time. The conflict with other family commitments around the same time frame have been resolved. Last night, I sent Croc an email confirming my plans to attend; posting here to make it unofficially official. In case anyone is considering doing the same, I'll be bringing the family along for the event. Looking forward to a fun time and the chance to put some names and faces together. yellowss7
Great Shane. Looking forward to meeting you and seeing your car. Too bad now that we aren't mixing it up with the Corvette and Porsche boys on track. That V8 would certainly not have to wait for a throttle lift to get by. :smilielol5: With Sebastien, Shane and a possible AndyB, I put our count now at 17 1/2 Se7en owners who have expressed an intent to attend. I know of a couple more that are potentials or just waiting for their schedules to clear. Tom
xcarguy
Tom, I just sent Croc an email letting him know that 4MARIO, as of today, is seriously concidering coming up. He has the Stalker that was involved in the accident with the truck. I spent the day hanging out with Mario and his car all but ready.
4MARIO
All Count me in. Who is keeper of the list and for this event? Croc is it you? I'm planning to be there with my LS1 Stalker #142. I just found out about this event when Shaner Collins (fellow Stalker owner from Arkansas) visited my shop in Florida yesterday. C U there. yellowss7
Welcome aboard Mario. I have you on the list of attending drivers. Croc and I are in contact and will be updating the list here shortly. I have it at 18 and 1/2 drivers at this point. Should be a blast on the track and in the paddock and dinners will be a hoot. Come on Summer!!! Tom
Kitcat
Tom: Why do you torture BBall with BDA's like that:)? And here I am 45' from Middletown, OH. I cld just toss that engine in my trailer when I go thru Middletown on my way to NJMP and deliver it to him there! Nice to see that some of the Stalkers are coming. Maybe MigetRacer will be tempted and will show us all the fast line? Wonder if a car mag wld like to cover this? Grassroots Motorsports has an eclectic view of cars and especially loves the hands on, built it myself stuff. Automobile covered our event in 2007. Superformance could bring some cars and get some free ink too??? Edited January 28, 2014 by Kitcat
yellowss7
Mike, now that could make for a fun evening. An engine Transplant at the track. Can we get it done in time for him to run it. Stewart's been there and done that. Tom
bball7754
The Middletown BDA has been on Race-Cars.com for quite some time - maybe 2 years? The Memphis one is, I think, a relatively new posting. Bit out of my price range (wild understatement) though.
yellowss7
Wow it must be the cold weather, or is it global warming. :willy_nilly: It’s mid January and the interest level for this year, the 4th annual gathering of 7’s at NJMP is off to a Low Flying start. No money is due or paid yet, so we realize that throwing your hat in the ring at this time is verbal commitment only, but from the level of excitement we are seeing, we are pretty psyched about the potential of the turnout level. Croc, Blubarisax, JBH and I are members of the Drivers club member day we have been allowed to participate in. As Croc pointed out in a previous post, they have offered us an opportunity to bring in a group of 7’s to run in our own 7’s only run group. We will be running on the Lightning Circuit, one of the two tracks at NJMP, on both days, which although, precluding us from running on Thunderbolt, it does mean that for those of you new to the track, you will have two days to get comfortable on Lightning, which is a fun momentum track, with a few neat features. As of this moment, we have 19 drivers who have expressed their interest and desire to attend. For those of you who are NOT interested in taking your car on track, you do have the option of attending and joining in on the group pictures, dinners, etc., and for a $25 guest fee, participate in the breakfast, Drivers meeting, Lunch and even get a passenger ride from those of us who are approved Instructors. So, the Current list of attendees as of now are: 1) Yellowss7 (Tom) Caterham 2) Croc (Mike J.) Caterham 3) Blubarisax (Karl) Caterham 4) JBH (Jeff H.) Caterham 5) Kitcat (Mike M.) Caterham 6) Michael D (Michael D) Caterham 7) Sabbot (Stewart) Caterham 8) BBall7754 (Steve M.) Caterham 9) Dave D (Dave D.) Superformance S1 10) Jeff S (Jeff S.) Caterham 11) S1Steve (Steve N.) Superformance S1 12) EvilRomeo (Roman) WMC Ultralight 13) Iceberg1234 (Paul B.) Birkin 14) Xcarguy (Shane) Stalker V8 15) 4Mario ( Mario) Stalker V8 16) SK400 (Sebastien K.) Caterham 17) Len C. (NJMP member) Caterham 18) Doug P. (NJMP Member) Caterham 19) Andy B. I'll bet if we all slapped GRM stickers on our cars, those Grassroots guys would be all over this event. Those with clout should give GRM a call and make this happen. There are also a couple of kit car (I use that term loosely) mags that might be interested. :iagree:
