xcarguy
Okay, guys (and gals), I'm looking to have a set of bespoke (what a great word) track-use-only wheels built for my Stalker. The brands I'm considering are Bogart, Keizer and Kodiak. I'd appreciate any input (pros, cons, etc.) regarding these brands as well as any other recommendations with respect to other brands I might/should consider. Thanks in advance. yellowss7
I bought a set of Kodiaks at the recommendation of Michael D. and have had no problems with them. They are nice and light too. However, as the rims are aluminum be aware that they don't like off track excursions. So If you drive like Croc or Kitcat you may want to buy big heavy honking Steel rims. :smilielol5::smilielol5::smilielol5: Tom
super7guy
Many west coast guys are using Bogart with great success. I would try to buy closest to you, if the prices are close to the same. Always good to trial fit, if possible, before committing to the set.
turboeric
I don't know if this is the size/pattern you'd need, but worth a look. http://www.rx7club.com/wheels-tires-106/kodiak-rt-15x9-w-new-225-45-nt01s-1038404/ Full disclosure - the vendor is my son, but I can vouch for him! Tom I've had an off-track trek. Took a quick tour of the grassy knoll coming into Horseshoe (that's 'Texas talk' for turn 14 at MSR Cresson). Didn't break anything except my pride . . . . but that was already in a severe state of disarray to begin with. :driving: . . . . . . . . . . :banghead: About 4:50 on the video:
Croc
Pussy! Thats not an offroad excursion. This is an offroad excursion (start at 7.15): Just remember - men go hard, its the girlies who go soft! Edited January 6, 2014 by Croc

xcarguy
Just watched the video all the way through. Your honking your horn at the Superlight (Tom and Jack) in the Chicane is hilarious! :smilielol5::cheers:
yellowss7
That wasn't even in the top 2 of Croc's offs. Mike, dig up the one from our first 7's gathering where your Dust cloud brought the whole track to a stop. :flag: Welcome back. Tom
Croc
Come on up to NJ Xcarguy - I am sure Mike (Kitcat) and myself can corrupt you!  Sadly the dust cloud video is banned from boobtube thanks to the illegal music Tom used in making it. It was epic though - one of my longer spins I have got myself into and to force everyone to stop in the middle of the track because of no visibility was just perfect
xcarguy
Come on up to NJ Xcarguy - I am sure Mike (Kitcat) and myself can corrupt you! It's funny you mention that. I was actually looking last week on Google Maps to see just how far I would have to travel to come up there for a track day; only 1,322 mi from El Dorado, AR. You guys do look like you have a lot of fun together and NJMP looks to be a fantastic track for Sevens. I do occasionally fly into Teterboro. If the cards are ever aligned and I'm up there during an opportune weekend, I'd love to drive down and, at the very least, hang out with you guys. yellowss7
Come on up. I trailered to Barber Motorsports Park once for a trackday. 17 hours straight thru one way. I didn't feel too bad until I tried to get out of the truck. Legs were a little stiff. :ack::ack::ack: But for a long weekend and this year's 7's only run group, it may be worth it. We are at 15 se7en's so far and there are several more who are thinking about it. I still think we will be at 20 plus on track. Just Do it! Tom
Croc
I do occasionally fly into Teterboro. My office is a mile from Teterboro and fly out of there too. So if you are in town let me know and we can arrange to meet for a beer and a burger.

LOL Steve - You are still jealous from my driving at Spa-Francorchamps in the snow - more wrist action than when I was 15yo! :willy_nilly: Funny accent my ass :bs: I am a true southerner unlike you Yankees! Croc, Being a corporate pilot, more times than not it's usually spur-of-the-moment notice for me, but I'll be sure and let you know next time I'm headed that way. Would certainly enjoy getting together for a visit.
xcarguy
A special thanks to everyone who responded. Flip flopping around between Bogart and Keizer, but leaning a bit more toward the Bogart wheels. Not that Keizer hasn't, but the Bogart rep I've been dealing with has been especially helpful with helping me dial in a set of wheels for my car. Croc
Bogart would get my vote as the Keizer website is full of errors and link issues. You click a 5 spoke wheel and the specs come up for a 4 spoke. I like the Bogart SS - reminds me of the old Momo Stars I had on a car once. Maybe a black inner to hide the brake dust? Which style/size are you looking at? I can help you load up your credit card quicker than your wife I have some experience having bought some 13" wheels myself this week amongst other go faster goodies.
