escondidoron
Here's a few more from Buttonwillow.. open wheels 4 to 12 cylinders Mondo, Great shots. What engine is in the Griffith and do you know the year model? If you're referring to the cute little red fastback coupe at the bottom of post #7 I'd guess that the engine is a BMC "A" Series as I'm pretty sure it's not a Griffith, but rather an Austin Healey Sprite (or maybe even an MG Midget?) fitted with a Sebring (replica or real?) fastback roof and nose. 11Budlite
Mondo, Great shots. What engine is in the Griffith and do you know the year model? If you're talking about the red #2 car, that's an Austin-Healey Sebring Sprite. They produced a few of these cars with more aerodynamic bodies (as well as standard bodied cars) and raced them at Sebring in the early 1960's. Some pretty impressive drivers raced Sprites at Sebring including Stirling Moss, Pedro Rodriguez, Innes Ireland, Bruce McLaren, Briggs Cunningham, Walt Hansgen, and even Steve McQueen. I'm pretty sure they ran the 948cc motor bored out to a whopping 998cc's. Not quite the powerhouse of the Griiffith!
xcarguy
An Austin-Healy . . . . I learn something new every day.
