Mike, I had the same problem because the lights scraped the hood when you opened and closed it. I learned to squeeze both sides while standing in front of the car to avoid hitting the lights while lifting and lowering in those crucial areas of contact. I also considered cutting the hood off behind the nose, but did not do it. Jack

Thanks for the kind words Shane. Can't wait to see the Super Chicken in person. All three identical SuperStalker chassis but with three different approaches to lively power plants. The weekly Indy Cars and Coffee meets will be a blast next Summer with your participation. Thanks for stopping by the neighborhood. It was great fun to see your expression when Dave fired that COPO up. Jack

Looking great Shane. Over the top as usual..!!! Hope to see you this week. Will be traveling over the weekend until about mid-week next week. Give me a call when you get back to Indy. Jack

Looks good Mike. I never had any problems with lift on chassis #10 but I never drove it much over 100 on the hiway. Auto cross was from 70 to 80 at the most. I also added a defuser much like yours plus an adjustable rear spoiler and front spliter. That did make a difference on big and fast auto cross venues like at Grissom AF base. Jack

Someone got a nice, well sorted car for sure. Hated to see it go and I know I will have to come to the realization that I am getting to the age where I'll need to make the same decision. Like you with still having the Corvette, I can transition to my Miata but it's not a Se7en.

The black stripe on the hood and nose surround is paint. The black frame, roll cage and all the aluminum panels are flat black powder coated. The headers are Jet-Hot Ceramic coated. The side pipe 3 ft extensions are powder coated. No wrap has been applied to the body on this car.

We fabricated a sub-cowl to hide the wiring and the back side of the dashboard. It has an easy lift off cover for access.

Mike, will get more outdoor pics soon. Have a bunch of little detail things to wrap up on Dave's car. We have been thrashing to get this project presentable for a huge car show this weekend; 10th annual Carmel Artomobilia (http://www.carmelartomobilia.com). Draws a huge crowd with over 450 cars and motorcycles on display. Entry by invitation only.

We wondered if there had been another delay. We are looking forward to your move to Indy. Your Re-build is looking fantastic. I am really intrested in your NACA duct in front of the hood scoop. I have to do something like that to get more air flow to my turbo inner cooler. We are not completely done with Dave's car but he will be able to get to this weekends Artomobilia Car show. The location is only about three miles away. Have had a grimlin pop up that I need to trace down before it is fully street legal. Dave refuses to trailer it. It does run and sounds great. See you in about a week. Jack

I have been helping a good friend and neighbor build a Brunton SuperStalker for over 2-1/2 years. Powered by the L32 Pontiac supercharged 3800. No expense was spared on this everything new including a crate motor from GM. Finished just in time for the 10th annual Carmel, Indiana Artomobilia to be held Aug 26th. This is a high end by invitation only car show. That is me standing beside the owner, Dave Smith, who is starting it up for his first drive on the street. Dave is an experienced vintage Corvette race car driver. He was blown away by all the power this car has.

Was hoping to see Gary's old Mallock again at the INDY SVRA this year. Sorry you could not make it down. Looks like you have been very busy with customers cars. Good luck at Road America this weekend.

Shane, Give me a call or text when you get into town. Jack

Mike, love the way you have managed to capture the style of the original Seven. Where did you find the tail light assemblies? I am wanting to replace mine. Have been thinking about buying the new Just Add Lightness LED assemblies. Jack

Mike, I intended to call you last night but the evening got away from me. A partial cover would work fine. The full wrap around was a pretty good challenge. Check out Mark Scott's approach in the Gallery on chassis 112. That would be more than enough and easy to do. I have often thought about adding the clams to #21 now that I have most of the development work done on the turbocharged Ecotec project. Really happy how that is working out. I have been helping a friend with his new build on chassis 106 which is taking far more time than should be required (over 2 years now). Just about to get it finished for a big show in late August here in Indy. Need to finish the wiring and fire it up. Body panels are back from the paint shop yesterday. Looking forward to Shane's move to the Indianapolis area. He dropped me a text about your thoughts on the clams. Good choice. Jack

Hey Mike, You will be very happy with the Caterham clams. I used them from a '97 standard chassis (not SV) and installation was a breeze. Make sure you you use the left and right Caterham front mounts that also have the headlight mounts. You will need to also have the Stalker engine bay side covers which a lot of folks don't install on their Stalkers. The clams are also bolted to the side panels as well. You will also need to cut off the Stalker headlight mounts as they interfere with the Caterham front mounts. Finally, you will need to fabricate a split tube mount to attach the front mounts to the frame. The split tube detail is the last photo from the front right side of the frame.

My wife and I drove down to Barber Motorsports Park last weekend primarily for the HMSA event but also recognized Log 37 was going on. Took a few photos of the early Sevens arrivals and spoke with Norm Beaver before going back to our race viewing spot.

For Sale: Ultralite S2k , also a 7X14 enclosed trailer
jbanker replied to powderbrake's topic in Cars For Sale
Jerry, chassis #21 has not been driven in anger either at a track day or autocross. I generally do a weekly Cars and Coffee cruise in on Saturdays and a Hot Rod Wednesday dinner at a local restaurant in nice weather only. A few local car shows. I have trailered it to two car shows since I bought it in late 2013. Have been building another one for the last 2-1/2 years for a good friend and neighbor. Hope to have it completed early this Summer. This is SuperStalker chassis #106. No used parts on this car. My friend is as fussy as you are. It is a true pleasure to work in this kind of environment. Good luck on your sale. Your quoted price is more than fair. -

Jerry, I have always felt your Ultalite was the premier build. Your attention to detail is exceptional. It would be great to do at least one more event with you before you put the goggles and driving gloves away. I only hope I can still be playing with my Se7en 7 years from now. You are truly an inspiration and ambassador for the Se7en hobby. Somebody will be getting a first class sweet ride when they take delivery. Jack -
Now that Spring has finally arrived, cars and coffee is in full swing. Gator Motorsports on the first and third Saturday mornings and the second Saturday of the month at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. All cars are welcome.
-
It has been great Fall weather here in the Midwest. Hope we can drive our Se7ens at least once every month in 2017

Guys and Gals, I can testify to the quality of this build. Gator Motorsports is located in Indianapolis and I have been over this car with a fine tooth comb. It is an exceptional Stalker build (chassis #97). I have had two Stalkers (chassis #10 and #21) and still own #21. Currently i am in the process of helping build chassis #106. The current quoted price of under $36K is a heck of a deal for the "spared no $$ expence) build.

New home for Jack Banker's Legacy Stalker chassis #10
jbanker replied to jbanker's topic in General Sevens Discussion
Gary- Over 300 at the rear wheels at 13 PSI boost. I keep it dialed back at about 6 PSI. Jack -
My son, Christian Banker and his wife Meredith, have taken ownership of my yellow Stalker. They live in Scarborough, Maine and autocross with the Columbia Motor club. However, I still have the Ecotec powered Super Stalker which basically took the old car's place about two years ago. The first photo is them pulling out of my driveway in Indianapolis for the 1000 mile trip back to Maine. The second photo is the turbocharged Ecotec car that I have been playing with over the last two years.
