  1. Hello Doug, We met at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway at the Formula SAE Hybrid event this year. My wife and I were one of Indy SCCA Region course workers for the autocross event. Really enjoyed reading your build progress on the Seven. I'll continue to follow your progress and bring Raleigh & Velma Boreen up to speed. I think you will find this USA7's group very helpful and always interested in your project. Jack Banker
  2. Duane, Did you put the new Gazz springs and shocks on it? If so did you go the 700/300 route? If so that would be one heck of a buy at $18.5K. Jack
  3. Skip, that is awesome..!!! Jack
  4. Nice runs. Our season ended over a week ago. Living in Florida certainly has it's pluses. Our last event was a non-points deal with as many fun runs and passenger rides as you can stand. Jack
  5. Hi Loren, I only knew of two S2K's in Indy and one XR7; Paul S. (S2K) and Steve B. (XR7) The other gent with the S2K passed away over a year ago if I recall. Jack
  6. I mounted Caterham clams to my Stalker and used the Caterham front clam/headlight mount without any problem at all. I did have to remove the existing headlight mounts that came with the Stalker. I am very surprised that you can not mount the Caterham front clam mounts to the Birkin. Dimensionally I would think that the Birkin up fit would be easier than the Stalker up fit. The Birkin and the Caterham are very close to the same dimensions. Jack
  7. That would be a nice trip.
  8. Thanks Gary. I forgot about Team III. I think Compmotive makes a Mini-Lite style that will fit as well. Not sure about Panasport. I think the Team III and VTO wheels are priced right. Jack
  9. VTO might be a good option if you like the Mini-light look. At least it is a proper looking style and I think they can drill 5 on 4.75 bolt pattern and spacing. I would go with the 15 x 7 with 205-50 x 15 tires all the way around even if it was a high HP superStalker. Jack

    New Build

Nice job Shane..!!! Really like the color combination and nice touches with the powder coated Splitter and Brooklands. Hope all is going well with you and the family. Jack
  11. Scott, I think you would be surprised how many Stalker owners also own a Miata as a second or third car. Believe me there are several. Jack
  12. My wife and I bought a '99 MX-5 2-1/2 years ago that had 33K miles on it (red one on the right). We have put about 13K trouble free miles on it since we purchased it. It is used mostly in dry weather as our preferred daily driver. Recently we took a week long, top down trip through the Smokey Mountains and a jaunt up the Blue Ridge Parkway. Plenty of storage in the trunk for the two of us. We have done several similar trips in our Stalker. The MX-5 is a lot more comfortable. Ours is minimally equipped but does have leather seats, wind deflector, glass rear window, AM/FM/CD, air, power steering and brakes. It is a 5 speed with limited slip diff, 1.8L and gets better than 30 MPG. Cruise control for long trips would be the only option that I wish it did have. My son bought a '95 last year that had 115K miles on the clock (black one on the left). It is his only car other than the Locost that he has been building for the last three years. He autocrosses his Miata nearly every weekend when he is not co-driving with me in the Stalker in Indy Region SCCA Solo events. On week days he drives his Miata 75 miles round trip dailey to and from work. Probably the most versatile, least expensive and great fun car we have ever owned. You can't go wrong owning a MX-5 plus they have pretty good resale value if you take care of them. Jack
  13. I like the Garmin Nuvi series even the lower cost devices will post the speed limit on the road that you are driving. The higher cost units will also give current traffic and weather advisories. I have installed a 12VDC outlet under the dash to plug in the GPS or any other 12 V accessory. The Nuvi is flat and can quickly unplugged and stick in your shirt pocket. Jerry's idea of purchasing the PC programable devices is a very good feature. My wife and I drive a lot of back roads and just returned from the Smokies and NC Mountains. Our 2 year old Garmin Nuvi performed flawlessly in the hinterlands while driving our 12 year old Miata. Did trips in Minnesota, Wisconsin and Georgia last year in the Stalker with the same GPS unit. Jack

  15. Sounds like we are about three miles away as the eagle flies. I'm sure we will do something like this again next year. Our 35 member Lotus owner's club, CHILL (Club House of Indianapolis Lotus Lovers) has a good relationship with Team Lotus, Lotus USA and Lotus UK. I'll make a post a few weeks before the event if we repeat it. Last year our CHILL 500 get together was at the Speedway in the Team garage. We also did something with the Indiana Mortorsports Association earlier in the week at the Governor's mansion near downtown. Our club president lives on Queen's Way Circle and has a very nice car collection which includes four Lotus cars. Jack
  16. Queens Way Circle is where the party was held. I'm about 10 minutes away on the Carmel/Westfield border (1/2 mile west of 151st Street and US 31 area). Jack
  17. You should have come to our Team Lotus 500 party the afternoon before the race. Had a great time with over 30 Lotus cars, Se7ens and Takuma Satos' #5 Team Lotus car. Takuma, E.J. Viso and Tony Kanan were there for over an hour along with other Team Lotus members. We had a great time with great food and beverage. Jack
  18. It was a Brunton Automotive custom Se7en specific built tilt bed trailer. It was located in Indianapolis and it sold within the last two or three weeks. Possibly someone on this forum bought it. I have one like it and they are great..!!! Jack

  20. While you are in Des Moines go out to Dallas Center, just outside of Des Moines and check out Sugar Grove Custom Cars. They have several Stalker Se7ens for sale. http://www.sugargrovecars.com/ Great bunch of guys with some wild rides including Stalker turnkey cars. Tell them that Jack from Indy sent you. They will treat you like a King. Jack
  21. Saw him last August at the Stalker Ambush in Helen, GA. Have heard from him two or three times since then. I'm sure he still lives in the Alpharetta area. I know he travels quite a bit with his job.
  22. The owner of this Brunton Super Stalker lives in Alpharetta. http://www471.pair.com/stalkerv/gallery2/main.php?g2_itemId=197 His name is Paul Whittle. Jack
  23. The Caterham S3 and Birkin S3 are the same dimensions. The SV and Stalker & SuperStalker are virtually the same size; +4" in width and +7" in length. Jack
  24. Scott, Tony lives about two miles from me and I can attest to the fact that his trailer has always been garaged. He purchased his before I bought mine from Dennis. They are great trailers for Se7ens. You don't even realize it is back there even if you tow with a small crossover SUV. I have towed with my wife's Toyota Highlander with no problems even though my normal tow vehicle is a Dodge Dakota Quad Cab. Jack
