  1. I was wondering where the helmet car was hanging out. Too bad it doesn't have the Cosworth to power it. I'm across the pond - in Kirkland (trying to sound English).
  2. The Cosworth 260 with the Caterham 6spd (non-sequential)
  3. Your monitor is set just right. It is a very dark purple (deep amethyst) and a light gold (champagne), both from model year 2000 Chrysler. The purple is almost black until the sun hits it just right. The combination was chosen as a thank you to my wonderful wife. They are her favorite colors and, as it turns out, look really good on the Caterham. And you can check it out any time you are in the area. Should be ready by mid-September.
  4. I'll let Bruce know that the car found a good home.
  5. Do a search for Beachman Racing here or online for info on how your car was prepped and raced at the 25 hours at Thunderhill. If you don't already have it, you'll be impressed.
  6. It is an incredible shop, but its not mine. Belongs to Beachman Racing, the new Caterham dealer for the Northwest.
  7. The crates have finally arrived:hurray: and the CSR build is beginning. Just a few more weeks and all the delays will be forgiven and forgotten. Here's what it looks like at the moment: http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y44/c5dawg/Caterham%20Build/P8210035_edited-1.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y44/c5dawg/Caterham%20Build/P8210037_edited-1.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y44/c5dawg/Caterham%20Build/P8210036.jpg
  8. Finally! The crates are now on a truck out of Denver and will be delivered here on Friday. Figure about four weeks to build and the CSR will be ready just in time for the end of the Seattle summer. Looks like I'll find out how well the Avons perform in the rain.
  9. The crates with my CSR should finally arrive next week (only four months late), so its doubtful that it will be drivable by the time you come through. I'm hoping to see the cars and meet you guys when you get to Sammamish. Please keep me posted on your progress.
  10. When is the tour expecting to be on the Seattle area?
  11. Hard to believe that the opening bid on #3 would start so high, just a few dollars below the BIN price. If he was really serious, the bidder probably could have just called Park Place and bought the CSR for less. With summer half over, and the car being up for sale quite awhile, I have to believe the seller is getting more motivated every day.
  12. Going into Canada and back to US won't be a problem. Just don't have anything close to a weapon, including pepper spray, or items intended for sale. And be sure to have your passports. Enjoy the drive.
  13. Expected delivery date?
  14. ... and you thought your feet already get toasty in your 7. There's a reason the place is called Thermal, often the hottest place in the country (the record high is 126 degrees).
  15. And we have a better 0 - 60 time!
  16. A Caterham's coefficient of drag is .62: http://www.mayfco.com/caterham.htm By comparison, a Kenworth is .60: http://roadking.com/2010/06/going-the-distance/ :toetap05:
  17. The ship leaves UK on Friday the 13th, hopefully with my CSR crates aboard. It will dock in Texas on July 29th. Then 7 - 10 days to arrive at home. Then the fun begins.
  18. A garage forum? That sounds intriguing.
  19. So how much is the going rate for shutting down a city? And where were all the poeple? Didn't see anyone watching from houses, adjoining streets, or anywhere. Still, very cool.
  20. I'm out since I am still CSRless. Looking forward to next time.
  21. Two English cars. You must be very happy they no longer have Lucas electrics.
  22. Just heard from Jon that the container will be picked up Thursday to be taken to the ship. Should be on the water shortly after that. Now just hoping there are no icebergs, dock strikes, railroad issues, drunken ship captains, hijackings, or other assorted perils that may delay the CSR even further. I may even actually be able to drive it before the short. Seattle summer is over.
  23. I wonder what this car is worth in the UK?
  24. At the current rate of delays, my CSR should arrive just in time for the tour. In 2013.
  25. An immobilzer. Car won't start or run without the chip in the key.
