  1. And I'm sure Mr. Cowell wants to ..... uh, never mind.
  2. Si - If you have any problems registering in California, bring your CSR to Washington (state, not DC). State Patrol and DOL have been quite helpful and accommodating.
  3. But ours is a fun cruel. You may also want to check out CSR Forum http://csr.informe.com/forum/. It is more oriented to owners in Europe, especially UK.
  4. (Assuming you are SC): Fair enough, you are very right. What events will you be able to attend? Be forewarned though, Caterham drivers can be even more cruel to each other in person. And now you can be one of them.
  5. In fairness, that headline was not supported by the article. No indication that Cowell is a spokesman or associated with Caterham in any way. Yet.
  6. Here are a few answers from a June article: http://cars.aol.co.uk/2013/06/10/simon-cowell-to-introduce-caterham-cars-to-america/. Also raises a few questions, such as: 1) How did he get it shipped to the US; 2) How did he order an R400 and get a CSR; and 3) With the Caterham backlog, how was he able to order a car in June and have it in his driveway 5000 miles away less than four months later?
  7. I can barely fit tools, a sweatshirt and lunch in mine. Where will he find the space for his ego?
  8. If the car is still in WA, have WSP reinspect it and have it retitled as 19??. Then transfer the new title to Illinois and they should accept it. If the car is already in IL, try checking the larger licensing offices for someone who knows how to handle custom/kit cars.
  9. This was the first time I can recall Autoweek using a full page editorial to call out a manufacturer. Not a great move by Porsche, unless they think their customers don't talk much with each other.
  10. Caterham is a featured “Supercar” at this year’s Seattle Auto Show http://www.seattleautoshow.com/specialty-exotics.php. Beachman Racing http://www.usa7s.com/vb/showthread.php?t=4489&highlight=beachman&page=2, (a Caterham dealer), will be providing the three car display. Should be a nice change from the new Toyotas, Fords, Mercedes, etc. usually there.
  11. And it was a great idea to provide no fresh air to cool the exhaust. This way the passenger's screaming about the cabin heat will drown out the laughter of people you pass by.
  12. It makes the Pontiac Aztec and AMC Pacer look stylish.
  13. That was the other option we all forgot to mention: do nothing for a bit and see what happens. Congratulations on it all working out so well for you. Enjoy.
  14. Florida license plates? If registered there, this could make a sale a little easier.
  15. Probably lucky for them they said this to you instead of her. And anything that either of you would do in response would be totally justifiable.
  16. Randy - I thought the Roadsport and the R300 were two distinct models http://www.uscaterham.com/showroom/comparison-chart.html with price and weight differences. If so, which one is this? If it is both, I apologize.
  17. Depends on how high the gate is.
  18. A new truck certainly gives a different perspective of the road. http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y44/c5dawg/IMG_20130818_145020_860_zps7863a2e5.jpgThe
  19. FWIW, some of the best memories from my daughter growing up are the times I left work for a few hours (I was a field employee for 33 years) to watch a school play, see her volleyball matches, go to the parent teacher conference, etc. Being one of the few dads at some of these events made them even more special for her and I. Besides, if you are away from home for two weeks a month, that is 50% less time you can be driving your 7. Hard to over emphasize that factor.
  20. What will your level of enjoyment be in the new job compared to your current one? When you are home will you be in a better or worse mood with the new job? What do the wife and kids think of the idea? When the 1-2 year commitment ends, will your salary remain high or come back to current levels? If it falls back, it won't really help your retirement at all.
  21. Of course, it is a great drive from Port Angeles to Port Townsend and then a pretty summer ferry ride to Whidbey Island. And then another enjoyable to drive to take another ferry to Mukilteo and onto I-5. Or from Port Angeles, Highway 101 either direction. Towards the coast is the Pacific Ocean and the town of Forks. That may not mean anything to most of us, but if you have kids or grandkids who like the Twilight books and movies, they will treat you like a rock star god if you bring them a gift from there. Like most good summer roads here, the views are spectacular and the curves are fun; if it weren't for those #@%!&* RVs clogging up the lane. Enjoy the GBB and hope to meet up with you down here.
  22. Just to avoid a little confusion, I think the ferry is actually to Port Angeles, not Port Townsend. There is also a very pleasant ferry from Vancouver Island through the San Juan Islands to Anacortes. Regardless, let those of us in Washington know when you will be in the area and maybe we can show you some hospitality.
  23. Since you will be needing car insurance while in North America, the company you select may have Emergency Road Service available as a fairly affordable option. State Farm (and possibly others) will even coordinate the tow truck for you, if needed.
  24. That is just so wrong and yet so brilliant. I wish I had thought of that when my kid was young.
  25. Just think how many people almost pulled into what they thought was an empty parking space, only to see a 7 there.
