  1. Hank were you not driving in a line of cars.....it’s that slip stream that was helping..... No seriously that is good gas mileage for those speeds I would believe...30mpg should be easy at 65 mph but who really cares about gas mileage when driving a 7 for fun.
  2. Moss Motors carries this part for the Weber Carbs and the air filter and other parts for the assy are avaiable through them. Here is a link to the part numbers for the assemblys. http://www.mossmotors.com/Shop/SearchResults.aspx?SearchText=222-245&WebCatalogID=0> Here is the link to Moss Motors http://www.mossmotors.com/> Here is another sources link http://www.victoriabritish.com/> Hope this helps as the filters you show look to be a K&N filter.
  3. WOW that was something else. I wounder what happened.
  4. Sorry but that is very funny and a ride she will never forget.
  5. Man that sure was nice of Skip to pull his steering wheel apart to show and help explane for all of us non-electrical car nuts. Thanks
  6. If you go to a larger diameter wheel and change the rolling diameter of the wheel and tire combination it will cause the speedo to be off but you can always recalibrate it so you know what speeds you are doing. I think you will find that you will most likely stay with the flow of traffic anyway and when you’re driving spiritedly you will not be looking at the speedo anyway in most instances but that is just my belief. Just have fun and enjoy your car.
  7. I am not a war monger but I would shake Corporal Craig Harrison's hand any day and do it with admiration that he does his job well and has saved others lives in the process of doing his job knowing that a lot of people would despise what he does for his fellow man. I get a kick out of reading the comments in the link/clip as most of those people that have posted comments have no idea or clue as to how their freedom has been determined and upheld by people like Corporal Craig Harrison and other military personal. Again my hat is off to this brave and honorable soldier for his actions.
  8. Neverdull and lots of elbo grease and if that dose not work then some very fine sand paper and then polishing compound and more elbo grease or you can just repaint the areas if you do not want shinny aluminum as a lot of us have done or even use a scotch brite bad to skuff the surface to a dull shine as I have with my car.
  9. The new owner should have a lot of fun with it as it is a good looking 7.
  10. I think it has something to do with their sence of smell.....:smilielol5:
  11. A 49.795 clean run on that course is just outstanding....way to get it. I gotta get me some softer compound tires for my car.....currently running tires that have a tread wear of 580 so it is like driving on marbles all the time.
  12. The shocks in the photos are not upside down to the best of my knowledge. Shaft end should be up and cylinder should be down. Those are very expensive and should work very well with your car. I initially wanted Bilstein shocks but the price was way to high for my wallet if you know what I mean.
  13. Actually about 15ft from it.
  14. Yep I could see some of us riding on top of it and having fun. I wounder if they are for sale as I would think they would be something that would be in demand in the snow belt.
  15. On my car I have anchor nuts mounted on a tab that is attached to the frame and use a bolt that has a knob for the head and use that to secure the bonnet / hood to the car. Here is a link to a photo that shows what they look like on the car. http://picasaweb.google.com/MHKflyer52/ALotus7Replica#5368521760232243938> Hope this helps and give you some ideas.
  16. Well I spotted this creation in a parking lot by one of my friends shops and figured I would give it a look. It at first looked well made from a distance but when up and close it is scary in its overall construction...well I would not drive it on the street but that is just me...powered by a motorcycle engine, body by foam covered with fiber glass, frame looks to have been home made and gass welded or braised together and not to well in my belief, Side pod held on with hose clamp just behind left front wheel in photo, carries a motorcycle license plate.
  17. See Troy (480rider), I told you someone with the T9 gear box would post the answer for you.
  18. Hi Troy, After looking at the cross section of the transmition I would say that that area should be dry and the componets lubed with grease (white grease) but that is just my belief. I think someone that has a t9 in their car would beable to answer your question better and will most likely post a reply soon to help you out and educated me on the t9 transmition.
  19. Well I will take a crack at your question for you. 1. Can you post a photo of the plug and the area were the oil leaked out. 2. I would think that there should be some room for expansion of the oil / lubricant in the shifter box as there is in the gear box. I would keep the oil / lube just below the vent on the plug if it were me. 3. You can always add a breather to the top of the shifter box with a catch can. 4. I would clean the area and go for a nice drive or run a couple of practice laps and then see if the oil / lube is still leaking out of the shifter box with the oil level below the vent in the plug. If it is I would then look into sealing it up and adding a vent to the top of the shifter box. 5. You might want to contact the prior owner and see if that person has any info on the setup and what the proper fluid / lube should be in the shifter box. I have a Miata and the shifter has gear lube in the shifter tail housing to lube the shift mechanism which I suspect is the something that your application is doing. Just my ideas and hope they help and WELCOME ABOARD and post some photos of your ride for us to check out.
  20. Ingmar (twnpipe), Thanks for the nice words.
  21. Good punch line....still laughing.
  22. Yep that is funny an F@bu%it (folding bucket)
  23. I wounder what the fuel burn was for that run. Very impressive what money and engineering can do.
  24. Bad part is if they (the pirates and their lawers) though that they could convince the court they were acting as investment bankers and under the guidence of Goldman Sachs they would probabley walk free and then get federal money as a bailout.
