  1. The Oil Pan on my Replica 7 from the last drive I took and what caused it. The second photo is of my Oil Pan after removing it from my car. The first photo is what caused the smashing of the oil pan and measures 6 inches high even after my car played bulldozer with it. Yes that is after the top was removed by my cars oil pan. Skid plate is now being fabed up so the new oil pan and pickup tube do not suffer this fate again. Should be back on the road by Monday I hope.
  2. Now that is funny. Way to go Mary you definately have the auto-x bug.
  3. Me too......but you would have to be approved by the manufacture before they would sell you one.
  4. Whatever baseball you buy for the grandson make sure you get proof that it is a true signature. The good collector retailers will provide paperwork to support the validity of the signature and will state the number of balls the player has signed. :jester: PS: If you need a signature on a baseball I will sign one and you can have it.....not worth anything but it would be a signature on a baseball.....:jester:
  5. Not to high jack the thread but in California if the vehicle weighs less than 1500 lbs you can run without fenders. As for were you live they most likely have different rules so check with your department of motor vehicles to make sure you do not get in trouble. :auto:
  6. That looks good. I like the no fender look but the color is outstanding and makes the car but that is just my belief.
  7. You got me also....Lo, Norm, Hi and Max....funny....but is it true?
  8. It is beyond belief on how much time people will waste to make something so silly. I like the helmet used for all that speed..........
  9. Interesting
  10. I wounder what the price tag on that car is but I guess if you have to ask it is out of your reach well at least mine. I like it and would like to see one up close.
  11. Very nice almost understated in appearance.....I said almost.....it reaches out and grabs me the more I look at the photos.
  12. Now that is funny......20" Spinners...... Calvin, Changing an engine and trans and rear diff if the same type is quite a large job. At least for me even in my car that I built from scratch and know every inch and weld and bracket and tube in it. Changing to a completely different engine and drive train for me would be about the same as building another car from scratch. Especially if I were to change from the BMC (MGB) engine and trans and rear diff to a S2K engine and trans and a rear diff just because of the size differences. If your set on making the changes to your car to make the S2K engine and trans and a rear diff fit and that will handle that setup then may I suggest that you make a mockup of your frame for the areas that will be effected (engine bay, trans tunnel, rear bulkhead aft to last tube in the frame) so that you can see just what new parts you will have to fabricate to fit your frame so that the engine and trans and diff will fit before you take your car apart. By doing this you will still be able to still enjoy driving your 7 during the fabrication of the many new parts you will need to make to fit your frame to the new engine setup and it will also show you if the S2K setup will even fit in your frame. If you have a 3D solid model program such as SolidWorks then all this can be done on a computer and even provide you with drawings that will let you fab the new parts with ease and a lot less waste of time and metal and money and ensure that everything fits as it should. Hope this sugestion helps.
  13. Now that is realy funny.....
  14. That is funny....
  15. To all the folks that have served and are serving the United States of America in the Armed Forces and especially the ones that have given the ultimate sacrifice to this nation and its people and the world. "THANK YOU" Without your service this nation would not be what it is today even if it is not perfect it is still the freest country in the world. Again "THANK YOU"
  16. Point taken Calvin. I was harsh with my post so pardon my way of saying that I believe you have a very nice car that I think you would regret modifying to the S2K engine and drive train when the mod is completed. Yes I should have not even commented and I am sorry. I was over the top but you have a very nice 7 and I just do not believe it would be a beneficial upgrade but that is just my onion and we all know what opinions are good for. Have fun and enjoy your 7 anyway that you like as you only have to be happy with your own choices and no one else’s. You still have a very nice looking 7 the way it is and that is my belief and a heck of a lot better looking than mine and a lot of others that are out there. Hope this makes since and I hope you will accept my apology for being over the top in my post.
  17. Man that is harsh but where or how dose one get in touch with the dogs owner....Just Kidding.....LOL
  18. LEEPER, JUST DON'T DO IT YOU WILL RUIN A VERY BEATUFULL CAR AND YOU WILL NOT BE HAPPY WITH THE END RESULT DO TO THE LOSS OF VALUE YOUR Donkervoort HAS NOW. I have to agree with Powerbrake and his Item 2 "Before you get into this MAJOR rebuild of the car, consider selling it and getting an Ultralite." I would say from my experance in building a 7 from scratch you will be doing the samething and loosing money by destroying a very nice and capable 7. Sell your car and buy an Ultralite and don't kill a nice 7 by trying to stick an S2K in that car but that is just my belief.
  19. That is a very good documentery on Auto-x'ing. Very cool. I would give the producer a A.
  20. "Through the MUFFLER".....Now that is funny.....
  21. Should sell fast at that price as it is a nice looking 7. :cooldude: Daughters do have a way of making Dads do (strange) things for them and never really know that they have been the recipient of that love. :cooldude:
  22. I agree especially if you have had no issues with cementation. I am amaized that their is that much oil in the lines and oil coolers on an Elise, I figured about a quart total. So I take it that the Elise holds about 8 qts of oil if completely drained and refilled. My 7 holds 4.5 qts in the sump and another 3/4qt in the oil lines and cooler for a total of 5.25 qts of oil.
  23. Hi Mike, Thanks for posting the photos as they are interesting. I like the Bugeye and the SLR (SLR is way out of my price range but I like it). I also enjoyed your commentary on the trailer trash as I also think the same way about the look and the idea :ack: . Sorry to hear that you received a ticket and that the officer did not have a since of humor.... "Yeah and pigs fly"....only if they are in a Caterham with the doors installed and the lower half’s not connected. Oh well they are out to collect revenue to pay for their jobs so you really cannot fault the old guy. :driving:
  24. Well I arrived back at the house in time for dinner and had a good day just jammin around the local roads stopping to visit with some other friends that are into cars and to check the car over. No leaks and no problems just a nice drive on a nice sunny day. Mazda, Sorry to hear you had to drive :auto: your VETTE to Carlisle today because of the posability of rain but I bet you enjoyed it (the drive) just as much as you did not have to worry about getting wet in Frankn7. We have a 30% chance of a rain shower tommorow here in Ventura but I do not think the weather gussers have looked out of the window as the sky is nice and clear and not a cloud in site. Well I hope you had a good day and their is always tommorrow for a drive.
  25. That is a very good question. I would suspect that there is about a quart of oil in the lines if not more and as long as they are. I do not think it would hurt the oil system for a street driven car that much as long as there have been no issues with the engine or the oil system. I would bet that if serviced at a dealer they drain the hoses when the car is up on the rack to drain the oil but one never knows and I sure do not know. I do know that my oil cooler and the two lines in my car hold just under a quart of oil and when I drained the cooler it was the first time that I had done that since I installed the current engine but will be done from now on every time I change the oil in my 7. (Note my oil cooler was full of fuel and oil from my tank being over pressurized which is not normal)
