  1. Thanks mrmustang Yes,.. just west of Cleveland OH.. about 30 minutes..
  2. Thanks for catching that Mike and for the kind words.. I thought i had fixed it but am in a bit of a daze.. :-) My dream of going to the track just went away but if the kids are healthy it will be exciting. Take care Paul
  3. In addition to my now 1 year + daughter i have twins on the way… just wow. Price reduced from $55,000 to $42,000.
  4. Was = state of washington
  5. My current title is a 2007 Caterham. I ended up having to get a new ohio vin even though it had been previously registered in was state with the Caterham vin. ( it's actually the exact same #, but when the troopers say it has to be changed...) Thanks Paul
  6. Thanks so much for the advice Bill, the individual is somewhat concerned about getting it registered as it needs to be titled as a 1995 or earlier Caterham to avoid the saftey/emissions stuff. My friend runs the title burea in my area and the titles are somewhat flexible but don't know if a replica title or something close of a early seven is equivalent
  7. Has anyone here tried to export a Caterham to South America? Was it difficult/expensive? Thanks Paul
  8. Sold 2007 Caterham CSR 260 Although its killing me to do this I'm putting up my CSR for sale. I have a new 9 month old daughter and it has certainly changed the priorities in my life. Anyway, this is the same car that was sold by Park Place Motors in Bellevue, Wa and is this thread. http://usa7s.com/vb/showthread.php?t=7116&highlight=2007+Caterham+CSR The car has a few more thousand miles on it now 15,000 but just as it was sold to me it has never been to the track (although I dearly wanted to take it to MidOhio). I just installed new tires on the front and they have less than 300 miles on them and the rears have been on for 1 year about about 1500 miles and all of them in great shape. I painted the 7 on the front red which is the only change i've made to the car. I recently purchased 6 point harnesses with the thought of going to the track but I haven't installed them yet. The CSR has the standard dash as the pictures below show and is RHD. This is bad for getting food at a drive though but great for being able to get parts and upgrade to any future engine/trans options they come up with in the UK. It took about 30 minutes to get used to the RHD for me but each person will have different learning curves and different requirements. I have all of the receipts for the original engine/chassis purchase (photo copies as the state of Ohio required the originals) as well as all of the photos and sales literature from the Park Place sale. I've changed the oil every 2000 miles of city/highway driving. I'm asking $42,000 for the car. If you have any questions please let me know. email : seschm1234@yahoo.com, phone ask for Paul at (440)670-5052 Here are a list of some of the features of the car 2.3 liter Cosworth Duratech 0-60 3.1 sec 1315 lbs 260 hp 4 point racing harness installed (including 6 point harnesses not installed) 6 speed transmission Full inboard suspension Full weather equipment (heater, wind shield etc.) AP Racing Brakes Assembly Completed at Caterham Dealer (Jon in Denver) Dry Sump RHD Rotary Throttle Bodies Two tops, ½ top and full Speedo replaced just before I purchased it. It has a Radar and motion alarm system with pager It is titled in the state of Ohio as a 2007 Caterham but it can be changed quite easily to some other designation if that is desired by the purchaser.
  9. I ordered mine from Beachman racing and he shipped them quickly. BEACHMAN RACING LLC MOTOR SPORTS, INSTALLATION & SERVICE CENTER 23515 NE Novelty Hill Rd. Redmond WA 98053 (206) 774-0852 Thanks Paul
  10. This is still up http://www.roadandtrack.com/car-videos/jules-bianchi-f1-crash-video
  11. Found this as a example of a factor car using the wraps. The new 620 R for sale in the US does use wrap on the exhaust manifold as you can see from these photos : http://hillbankusa.com/car/sale-2014-caterham-seven-620r-convertible but the Simon C. 260 CSR does not appear to of used these wraps. I don't know if its the different builders preferences or something specified by Caterham for the 620R.
  12. I had trouble reading the previously posted article. I found this on the california Caterham club website which is a higher resolution of the above referenced article on reducing drag in a Cat. http://www.californiacaterhamclub.com/aerodynamic/Caterham aero art 1 copy.jpg (http://www.californiacaterhamclub.com/aerodynamic/Caterham%20aero%20art%201%20copy.jpg) http://www.californiacaterhamclub.com/aerodynamic/Caterham aero art 2 copy.jpg (http://www.californiacaterhamclub.com/aerodynamic/Caterham%20aero%20art%202%20copy.jpg) http://www.californiacaterhamclub.com/aerodynamic/Caterham aero art 3 copy.jpg (http://www.californiacaterhamclub.com/aerodynamic/Caterham%20aero%20art%203%20copy.jpg)
  13. An aero modified seven http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-zX2N8hMcau0/TVw8AcsVMzI/AAAAAAAAAgM/30Br_RuZLMs/s1600/Rob+Cox+Allison+Black+Brick+Caterhams2.jpg
  14. Been following the development of the 2.3 liter Ecoboost twin scroll turbo engine that is just appearing and it seems like an interesting candidate for 7's. GIven the 7's low mass a supercharger is used most times for the very quick throttle response rather than a turbocharging system. The Mercedes F1 team this year has coupled a motor to their compressor to speed up this process and eliminate lag. My question is this... Engines performance is generally given as torque/power vs speed but this doesn't capture the lag associated with the turbocharged system and the inertia of the turbo and pressurization of the manifold. Is there a generalized parameter in the engine world that captures this relationship? Thanks Paul
  15. I pray the medication kicks in really soon.

  17. I know there is track insurance, do you all buy it?
  18. I have my insurance through USAA. You have to be in the Military, a vet or a child of a vet but if any of those apply…. I gave them the Caterham USA website, they also financed my car. My insurance is very inexpensive and I drive about 2500 per year. Thanks Paul
  19. Hi Coffee By applying the insulator to the exhaust manifold it creates a new and different temperature distribution from the head down through the manifold. The maximum temperature seen in the head must now increase to drive the same amount of heat out of the engine. So I would be concerned that the heat that was previously coming off the exhaust manifold forces a increase in head temperature and therefore increased stress in both the head and the manifold.
  20. Are you at all concerned that the elevated temperatures your exhaust manifold sees is going to have long term issues with stresses on your engine?
  21. That 2.3 duratech mustang engine, wow
  22. Hi scannon All of the MLI I worked on requires pretty hard vacuum levels to be better than modern ceramic insulation. Does this have a special separator material which gives the radiation shields some benefit? Something else? Thanks Paul
  23. I just called about the one in Ohio and it was sold a few months ago …. Its about 10 minutes from where I live and I wanted to take a look.
  24. Clicked on this thread and thought it was about a completely different subject. Best of luck
