Anybody mind sharing their car's setup? (camber/caster/toe)
WestTexasS2K replied to GunshipDriver's topic in Autocrossing
I have run the NT01 before and I really liked it in the dry. In the wet can be a bit hairy hydroplane happens quickly. I think anything over -1.75 camber is going to have a detrimental effect. I'm sticking with the 1.25-1.5 range. As the front end is very adjustable the camber adjustment will effect other items like caster. -

You might want to try the springs you have first. I'm not sure what your intended uses are but if you plan on any track usage your current springs should be close. If you are just driving on the street then softer springs may be better. -

Ultralite typical set up is -1.2-1.5 camber all the way around. Front caster 4.5-5.5. The 5.5 will be a little heavy on steering but it track very straight. I run rear toe at zero. The front toe .1 degrees toe in. -

Gunship what car? -
Dodge 1500 is now available with a v6 turbo diesel. The same on used in the Grand Cherokee. Jeep owners are getting about 30 mpg hwy 22 in town. The truck makes about 330 ft lbs torque. I think the tow rating is 10800 just under the ecoboost f150. Nissan will have a Cummins built 4.0 v8 coming out in 2015. Toyota is rumored to be doing a 1/2 ton diesel in 16.

Skin is polished aluminum not stainless. Rock chips are he'll on a seven body no mater the finish. Plasti dip is a good idea. When it gets tattered just peel it off and reapply.

Should I get a shortened oil pan for my WCM?
WestTexasS2K replied to GunshipDriver's topic in General Tech
It's not listed on the website. He hasn't updated in years but he does them. He has done two for me before. Motor is coming along Nissan has had him tied down nearly a year preparing cylinder heads for Austraila super car series. He is back on mine now from what I'm told. I go up every six months to check on things. It has been a bit frustrating for sure. He has stated he will throw in a set of ITBs and tune and Ecu free of charge for the delay. -

NVP66S A shortened wider pan is possible the issue I see is the oil pump pickup. The Honda oil pump is one piece cast aluminum. It doesn't have a pickup tube. I've seen some modified that looked a little scary IMO. I'm sure a good machinist could do it. The oil pump is a bear to get out without disassembling the front of the engine. -

No factory baffles in the S2000 -
Gunship there is a ring on the bottom 1/2-3/4 inch of the shifter. The little ring unscrews and then there are three set screws that hold the shifter handle on. There are no threads on top of the shifter. The stock Honda shifter is about 12" tall and kinda looks like a shifter for a Mac truck in the Ultralite. The stock shifter has a vulcanized rubber bushing upper section that gets removed what you have left is what is used for the shifter. you can have the shaft turned down and threaded or weld the desired bolt thread and pitch to the shifter stud. I have done it both ways for customers it depends on the knob.

That is almost identical to Endyns except theirs is 195.00 instead of 400.00. They use your old pan clean and weld the new baffle in your pan. -
Jlumba81 in correct. Prior to 2005 all 5x100. After 2005 the STI cars use 5x114.3. That is what I have in my car because there are way more wheels options for the 5x114.3 . Here is a wheel thread from NOSIAC that has all the info on wheel patterns you are likely to need. http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2239019

WestTexasS2K replied to GunshipDriver's topic in General Tech
Gunship I do not recommend a shortened oil pan. It decreases the oil level which is very important at high rpm 8-9k rpm the oil pump will pump the pan dry in less than 6 seconds. If you decrease the oil volume by a quart then you run the risk of running dry in a long high rpm corner. Under your proposed use I think a stock pan will work just fine. If you plan on track use with slicks then a baffled pan is suggested. I prefer ENDYN's http://www.theoldone.com oil pan baffle. He usually has a few spare pans that he will do on exchange basis. The good news is the pan can be pulled in the car in about 15 min. I recommend using the Honda Bond gasket maker for bolting the pan back on. -
Mold was sold to someone in North Carolina I believe.

Bruce it will be a great start and something that needed to be done for 12 years. Thanks for your hard work on it. It will be a good resource for owners even though no two cars exact they are close enough to be valuable info. I'm am not good a technical writer which is painfully obvious by my other rambling post. If I were to write a manual no one would be able to understand it. So send me a copy to my email I think you have it.

Bluncars and I talked before the purchase. We will get him on the road soon to enjoy the car.

Do you have Discount Tire store in the area. They sell them individually.

Wildwood doesn't make a 5x100 pattern hub. We have to remachine for 5x100. You can double check the thread on your car by trying the rear lug on the front. All my cars have had the metric threads. It's entirely possible that they are different depending on who machined the hubs.

It comes down to your choice. Keep in mind rear tire diameter changes final drive ratio. Not that a 1.5" is going to make a huge difference.
-
Yes that is correct.

You can't hold Harry responsible for something he said 20 years ago. Now Paula Dean is another story. You can make her accountable for something she said 25 years ago because she is a cook. You can use the media and drag her thru the mud for months and destroy her life. A Politician can flip flop like a fish out of water if it caters to the voters they need to win the next round of elections. I think its time for term limits myself. -
anyone run 17" front wheels and 18" rear wheels?
WestTexasS2K replied to GunshipDriver's topic in Wheels and Tires
I havent heard of running staggered sizes. Ive seen a few run 18" but not 17F and 18 rears. Check Rota wheels they had some nice looking wheels but 8.5 was widest they had that may have changed over the last few years. -
I prefer the look of the Classic Stalker also. The new chassis design looks great with plenty of adjustment to tweek it to your liking. Good luck with the build hope to see you at MSR in the future.

He is just a good businessman. You make the guns on street owned by citizens illegal. This makes your illegal guns more valuable. It's simple supply and demand. He needs to be the nations economic advisor.
