  1. Manshoon that should be the way it is. You can explain your rights remind them that the fourth amendment protects you from unreasonable search and seizure unless they have probable cause and a valid warrant till your blue in the face. They will just bust your window and out and arrest you for failing to follow lawful orders. Then you waste all your money fitting it in court which is just as corrupt. Two years and hundred grand later they will dismiss the charges . They know most people comply out of fear. They use government money and attorneys to drag you thru the system. They feel they have permission to violate your rights because the Patriot Act and National Defense Authorization Act gives them the permission. NSA doesn't have the right to listen to you're phone calls and monitor your emails either, but they have doing it for years. Our rights have been taken they just haven't told you yet. Its death by a thousand cuts they do a little at a time so that you don't complain to much. Then they indoctrinate our kids, and give them a poor education so they think its completely normal that the perverted convicted child molester grouping them in the airport boarding line is just a way of life in the USA. We are in serious trouble.
  2. I can't believe they have that posted on Youtube. That was murder out and out and they will get away with it. It will get worse as time goes on. We are entering a police state. Even in Tx they are putting up road blocks and checking papers and vehicle contents by TSA agents and homeland security. Totally violating the constitution. No border within 250 miles of the roadblocks.
  3. The tire size of 225 front and 255 for the rear is what I have run most of. It will take some time to get some heat in them on the track usually have to be careful the first few laps, but good traction when heated up. Its been I while since I looked for wheels 35-38 offset works a bit better. They will be harder to find in this offset in the 5x100 but there are a few brands out there. From the ad where you purchased the car it said it had 800F 350 R springs. I think thats a bit stiffer than most run. It could be a cause of oversteer issues. An aggressive setup is 550-600 with around 230-250 rears. Many people run 400 F 200R. It will depend on the intended use for the car. The ride is going to be rough with that high of spring rate. Im sure a few others will chime in with what they prefer. Taste can vary by owner and use.
  4. I would caution you to read the tire manufactures rim width for your tire. If you mount a 225 on a 10" rim. You run the risk of pulling the bead of the rim seat at speed where centrifugal force kicks in and also while corning hard due to the low tire pressures run on LSIS cars. I would run a little softer compound than a 200 wear personally. There are several threads here discussing the issue. Toyo RA1 or 888s seem to be a popular option. You will have fewer choices running 15" but there are good ones available. A street driven Ultralite will typically break lose the rear in the first three gears if you hit vtec. Streets are much dirtier and worn than a race track. Which car did you buy?
  5. I agree with others comments. 9" fronts will hit the fender supports and stick out past the fenders an inch or more. Tire rotation on any seven usually isn't needed because tires just don't wear very much due to the light weight. Second thought is with extra wide tires all around you will have difficulty getting them up to operating temps.
  6. Exhaust can become annoying, but I find the wind noise and buffeting more annoying.
  7. I'm taking scout troop camping Friday-Sunday. 1:22 is a very respectful time. 1:19 was my fastest recorded time. I:22 -1:21 is what most laps were. I believe John Meyers ran a 1:14 in his Stalker with his LS3 setup. You have the potential to get way down there.
  8. Xcar what are lap times at Credson.
  9. WOW that bug was pretty quick.
  10. The horn button just completes a circuit. Most massed produced cars will run 12v thru the horn button but they don't have removable steering wheels. I would think running a ground thru it might be a better way so that it doesn't accidentally get shorted out if something metal hits it like a seat belt latch or some other odd occurance. Horn would just honk instead of blowing a fuse. My 2 I'm sure others will chime in.

    My ADD

I have been wanting a Polaris Razor S for a few years just not many places to ride in Texas since most land is privately owned. I found these a few years ago http://bpgwerks.com . They look like a good time and arent too expensive. I have not been able to get much response from them on when they are available in the US. They are waiting on EPA registration last I was told
  12. That was kinda my point. The same idea had been done 9 years earlier it was just in Can Am not Indy car. The fans were driven by different methods which was a bit different.
  13. That reminds me off the Chappral 2J aka the fan car built in 1970. I saw it a few months ago at his museum. Here is some data on it. Jim Hall really was an ingenious engineer. He built some highly competive cars in his small shop in Midland Tx http://antholonet.com/EngineersCars/Chaparral2J/Chaparral2J.html
  14. The track is Barber Motorsport's Park in Birmingham AL. We were there for a 24 hour Lemons race in Feb. Chevy had the track rented all day and was running the car pretty hard. It is pretty dang fast. I didnt take lap times but it was hauling some !SS.
  15. I think that's the widest tires I've ever seen on a 7. Good luck with the build.
  16. Wow 200 mph in 11 seconds or so is insane for a street car then its just kept going. I'm fairly certain its a twin turbo v8 based on the GM LSX engine. It certainly doesn't sound like the Viper V10.
  17. That is a shortened oil pan. Remember that Goldie was originally built as a track only car. It originally had about 1.5 ground clearance with the 15" slicks. The sensor on the pan is oil temp. Just pull the sensor and drain the oil. Remember that the oil volume has changed due to the pan shortening. The dip stick should have been modified as well. Br sure to fill it to the top of the hatch pattern on the stick.
  18. Dodge is supposed to release a 1500 series diesel pickup this year. It going to use the same engine as the the Jeep Grand Cherokee. The Cherokee gets 30-32 mpg. I'm curious what one will get pulling a small enclosed trailer. My 05 dodge 2500 only gets 11-13 pulling a 20' x 8 trailer. It gets the same mileage pulling my very light 6x12 v nose. It will get 18 mpg with my 7 x 14 single axle open trailer with a 7 on it.
  19. The Iron Horse is going for around 8k if I remember correctly. It was out off my price range for a trailer. Id rather spend the money on a sequential trans for my car.
  20. I have looking at one of these large enough for a seven. Aerodynamic better gas mileage. Only down side is single axle. http://www.ironhorsetrailers.com/thetrailers/bigbiketrailer.html
  21. With a stock engine. I think the 225 front 255 rear is good. We went to 275 when we moved to the 300-400 rwhp in attempt to get the power out of the corner. It is near impossible to get much heat in them on the street.
  22. Thanks for sharing. I'm going to make my son watch that tonight.
  23. John k, I have been enjoying the thread my self. Johns car is not the typical S2k. The rear end looks like it was pulled from the XR7 model which is a completely different frame than the s2k. I m not sure when that car was built and why it was built the way it was. It looks like John is getting it sorted I am sure most owners would have thrown thier hands up long ago. Bravo for John sticking with it and doing the work to get it sorted. The S2k suspension isnt perfect, I'll be the first to admit it. It works pretty well for the most of us and can be adjusted to be a good performer. I have owned several S2ks and they all have been very capable cars. I have run with many Caterhams and passed many on the track. I have been passed by a few as well and a few Stalkers and a few Birkins and Locost models too. I have never driven a Caterham I assume they are jewel like precision driving machine. Since they are about 30k out of my price range I'll have to pass for a poor boy model. Keep up the work John its been educational for me. I have read most of those books you have mentioned. I havent attempted the software. I'm a little intimidated by it to be honest.
