  1. That will be a fun trip. 7evin knows Costa Rica pretty well. He is a good bike rider as well. Maybe I can come down there too. We can rent some bikes and go ride in the rain forest.
  2. Hey your car is sounding like a beast. Your up in the 5-600hp range arent yeah? 7evin said it is going to be a rocket when you get the kinks worked out. I hope we can meet up somewhere so you can take me for a ride. That way I will know what its like to have a fast car.
  3. I have no idea how mine would compare to the CSR260 to tell the truth I know nothing about the specs of that car. I assume it is a 260 hp version and that is probably at the engine not the wheels. My car is probably heavier because of all the accessories for the supercharger and one lap stuff I have probably added 80 lbs to my car with the trailer hitch extra wiring and supercharger accessories. My car is 1420lbs no driver and 8gal of fuel if memory serves me. My car is fairly well sorted but I am new to the racing stuff only been doing it about 1.5 years so suspension tuning is far from my forte. I am still running the same shocks and springs I bought when I built the car. I did get the shocks retuned but I think that they are worse than before. I just mash the gas stomp the brake and turn the wheel. Caveman style:jester: Your drag strip time and speed are a little unusual. It must have hooked really well out of the hole. Rear engine helps you there, but the top speed is bit slower it must haved run out of gearing. What gear and rpm are you in at the finish? I am in 4th at 9k when I cross so my gearing is perfect for the strip, on my 12.30 my mph was 123 but that was before it was supercharged I have no idea what it runs with the blower. I only had 2 passes on the 1 lap the first blew the rear on the 2-3 shift and the second pass my blower belt had come off and I didnt know it. I am running a good 105 more hp and about 60 more ft/lb of torque now. So I think low 11s or high 10s are a good possibilty if I can hook up.
  4. I hear that Jerry Fink from Laminar Concepts has a new car that he is bringing to Run and Gun. It has the LS7 corvette engine. He is putting 550hp to the rear wheels. I would imagine that car will be a land based rocket. His 400 hp 3 rotor rotary last year was spinning coming down the straight at 130 mph. It was wicked fast.
  5. Well Kitcat I think you got some bad info on our car. We did go with a Vortech supercharger and intercooler on our little 2.0. We are making 300hp at the rear wheels with 9lbs of boost. As far as turning it into Ultra unreliable we drove the car 5k+ miles pulling a 1400 pound trailer at 80 plus miles an hour, ran 18 track events across the country in 1 week. followed that up with a 2 days of pounding at Road Atlanta at Panoz day where we were faster than all but 2 cars a fully race preped viper and a corvette Z06 running 600hp and 12 slicks all the way around. Mind you we were still running street tires left over from the one lap Bridestone RE01. Kevin passed a Porsche Gt3 down the long straight at over 163 mph. Out of all this we are still running the same brake pads that we started the year with, the car still has the same spark plugs that I put in it 2 years ago. I did change the oil once this year and cleaned the air filter. The only problem we had was blowing up rear diffs we went thru 3 differentials during the 1 Lap. That has been fixed by going to a bigger diff no problems since then. I wouldnt hessitate for a second to jump in and drive anywhere in the country in the morning. I will be going to the drag strip on the 15th to see if I can get that 11.80 pass at 128mph. If I had some drag radials I might could go low 11 to high 10s. I have run 12.30 prior to supercharging with a 2.4 60' times that means alot of spinning coming out of the hole. I actually spin in the first 3 gears if I am not careful with the thin aluminum pedal on the right. 60' times should be in the 1.60 range. Rest assured I will have slicks for the road coarse and drag radials for the strip at RunNGun.
  6. Kevin and I ran into that problem during 1 lap. Taking some advice from team Iron Butt who ran an Ultralite the previous year. We had hero cards printed up. It has picture of the car on the front and then details about the car on the back. Manufacuture, demensions, weight, drive train used 0-60 times, 1/4 mile times websites etc. We just tell them we would love to tell them but we are short on time and hand them a card and refer them to manufactures website. The kids really love to get them , you would think that you gave them 20 bucks.
  7. I agree with Keith. Both cars are minimalist cars. Most of them only have the bare essentials needed to make them haul butt. I would personally welcome Atoms to LSIS events. They both originate in the UK and have the same basic intent. Lets face it the Atoms and LSIS communities are niche markets combining the 2 would really boost attendance.
  8. Yes those are all WCM S2K models with S2000 drivetrains. Not all S2000 drivetrains are created equal though :reddevil:
  9. Hey that would be a great idea to combine the Atoms and Sevens for a blat weekend.:hurray:
  10. Maverick 1 and Randy thanks for chimiing in on the board. I always loved the Atom its industrial look with modern suspension and drive train was very appealing to me. It offers nearly the same power to weight ratio as my car it certainly has more hip and shoulder room than my car. I come from a long drag racing and hot rodding background myself and like to study cars for there basic elements and design which the Atom is full of. I must admit that I would be one of the group if my wallet could support my dreams. But since my car can do just about everything as well as the Atom and cost less than half I guess I will have to be satisfied with it. I would like to tear away and go to Oklahoma for Atom fest. I would love to see one in person and maybe steal a ride from someone. P.S. It would great if some of your guys could come to Run and Gun. It would be interesting to see how the other cars stack up against the Atom. Yall can find out more info at www.runngun.net. It is a blast and you get tons of track time and plenty of time to rub elbows with fellow car nuts Loren
  11. Ottocycle your twitchy steering could be related to the caster. If you are running 1-2 degrees of caster it will be twitchy. If you can get it to the 4-5 degree you can drive with out your hands on the wheel. This will make the steering a little heavier but it makes the car more stable. My 2c. I love that car it looks very nice. Good job.
  12. Keith any chance that another invitation for the Atoms Fest could be wrangled for mojo to attend? I would love to run with some Atoms to gauge the performance differences.
  13. my bad typo
  14. Yeah that has happened to me except the other way around. My wife wanted to buy a Chiuaua dog a male at that after our last dog died. I especially dont like Chiuauas for some unknow reason after 45 min of arguing over the dog. I finally said " I dont want that dog but do what ever you want" wrong thing to say. When I came home from work I had that mutt running around the house pissing on everything in site. Needless to say I didnt clean up one drop of it. I made her clean up every spot and I delighted in hunting for spots for her to clean. I still hate that dog, but my wife and son love it, and he quit pissing on everything so I guess he will be staying.
  15. Man that sunset would be postcard quality if that lump wasnt standing in the way!  That is some unbelievable scenery you guys have been exposed to. You guys enjoy the rest of the trip and keep it shiny side up.
  16. man that was crazzzy. I think that would have washed a seven right of the road.
  17. Al I have figured it out. I am only about 25 hp more than you are supercharged. You just need to move that rev limiter from 6k to 9k and that will get you right up there with me. :blueangel:
  18. I cant wait to get that stroker built and then huff on it. I should be about 360 at the wheels and over 200 ft/lb of torque from 4-9.
  19. I dont have a scanner so I cant upload my dyno run but it goes like this 4k rpm 125 ft/lb 95hp 5k rpm 125ft/lb 118hp 5600 rpm 150ft/lb 170hp 6k rpm 153 ft/lb 175hp 7k rpm 165ft/lb 220hp 8k rpm 174ft/lb 268hp 9k rpm 166 ft/lb 298hp This was done on a dynojet 92 degress 58% humidity. 6 dyno runs done back to back no cool down to boost the numbers the motor was 210 degrees when we did the last pull. I do this to make sure the motor is little fat when on the track especially forced feed. The AFR was between 11.8-12.7 from 4-9krpm.
  20. Contact me at loren@organicracing.com I might be able to help you out. I have an Ultralite that you might be interested in.
  21. There is an Ultrlite listed on ebay new with 10 miles. It has miata power and it is going for cheap. Bid is 15k and reserve is met. Heck you cant even buy a kit for that much. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Replica-Kit-Makes-1-8M-1960-Lotus-Seven-WCM-Professionally-Built-Replica_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ7251QQihZ003QQitemZ130146258790QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW
  22. Chuck has a seriously ill family member and had to cancel. He was really looking forward to it. Hopefully he will be able to make Run N Gun.
  23. Yeah that six speed is a big chunk of aluminum but it shifts so fine. You are going to love that engine the first time you hit the vtec at 6000 hold on because 9000 is coming quick. Better have it pointed in the direction you want to go when you do it. And you just cant beat the reliability. I have run mine hard without a hick up from the engine.
  24. The mounts used on the ultralite are the factory mounts with 55 chevy bushings. Wiring is pretty straight forward. There are only about 6 or 7 wires needed to make it run like a raped ape. I have a wiring diagram that I will be happy to pass along with Brian Andersons go ahead. I know he has put years of work in on it. He has entrusted me with the info and I dont want to cross that line without a go ahead from him. Brian has found away to modify the ecu to eliminate the immobilizer so once the ecu is modified it just needs battery power to run. Mine is hooked up to my battery switch. It effects no other operation and simplifies the wiring. You will get a few codes if you hook up a scan tool. Emissions pump error and something else but thats it. I have the OBD II plug on mine helps with trouble shooting but most dont have it. I have run with and without cat. on stock ecu no difference as far as I can tell. Now I only run the primary O2 sensor because I am running AEM ecu now. Stock cluster should work it is just more factroy wiring that you have to sort thru It can be done if that is what you want. I am running a Mycron III by AIM it does track mapping lap times programable channels and other freaky things. I will be glad to help you anyway possible. I have wired a couple of these over the phone so I should be able to help you out if you get in a bind. I would also suggest you get the factory service manual. It helps out quite a bit. There is a factory wiring manual too. It has more info than the standard service manual. It is harder to find though.
