  1. Makes stopping a bitch though. And can you imagine the tidal effects that could have on your suspension components!?! It could wear out the suspension without ever driving the car!!
  2. Dealers already ask if you have "winter air" or "summer air" in your tires. This is stealership speak for adding a few pounds of air to the tires in the winter to account for the colder temps.
  3. This type of thing confirms that I have absolutely zero comrehension of how the hell F1 works. From an outside perspective I read this as: Billy said he was gonna come play, and gave us a ball to use, now Billy realizes he has to be home for dinner and can't come play, so we're going to keep his ball, but he can't play with us ever again, so there!
  4. Some desert racers recently came to the east coast for a race. A few of them must have been exposed to auto-cross at some point or another, as they devised "tree deflectors" that have a distinctly similar appearance to "cone deflectors"
  5. The best way to approach an overhaul is to sneak up on the car quietly with sawzall in hand Seriously though, after significantly "reconstructing" a 7 to fit a new drivetrain(Olds small block to LS1), I think we(Mazda and I) would have been ahead by starting from scratch and using the existing car for simple dimensional references. The Rotus we started with was not exactly a gem in terms of fit, finish, and overall condition, so there was little remorse in cutting it up. With a car that appears as clean as yours, I would do my best to avoid major reconstructive surgery. It may sound like a broken record, but there are better platforms for what you propose. Just my $.02
  6.
  7. Unfortunately I'm out. My girlfriend is paddling in a dragon boat race for charity on Saturday and I am going to be a dutiful boyfriend and cheer her on Not sure what Mazda's schedule is though.
  8. I must say I can't believe I didn't puke at the dragon  I must also say that 100mph in my Duramax is boring, while 100mph in Frankn7 is quite exhilirating. Crap, did I admit to having it going that fast in front of Mazda? :leaving:
  9. Find a dealership that will let you take test drives without the salesmen. That's how I learned to drive stick
  10. forgot to add thumpertalk.com (So glad it's back to the old format) and advrider.com
  11. I can't see a single thing that I don't like about it
  12. Pirate4x4.com ih8mud.com SC4WDA.org marylandcreepers.com expeditionportal.com usa7s.com I just looked up at all the different tabs that are open in internet explorer and that's what I had open at the moment LOL I've been on several others over the years, some come and go, others are staples(pirate4x4)

  14. I'm out. Didn't know if this was for sure or not, so I made other plans. Maybe next time.
  15. They're not too bad, but if you plan on long highway cruises, they get a bit cramped. I've done 5 hours of straight highway in Frankn7, and I was pretty stiff when I got to my destination.
  16. I don't disagree Mazda and I just continuously joke about the looks of the Rotus, so that when we are actually looking at it, the reaction is "oh, it's not THAT bad!"
  17. Didn't understand it at first, so my initial score was high, but the second time I got it down to 3.74. The parrallelograms kicked my butt! Got a perfect score on one of the circles though
  18. I'll have to check with Mazda, but I'm fairly flexible at this point. Making this ride means me having the Rotus for 2 weeks, so I need to give Mazda a heads up so he can prepare for his withdrawals
  19. It's 75 degrees here and I want one right now! Too cool!
  20. I'm planning to be there, already cleared the use of Frankn7 with slngsht
  21. Ryan?
  22. Reminds me of this guy LOL
  23. Where abouts are you guys planning on being/going? I might be able to snag Frankn7 and join you(I'm in Philly for work until October).
