OK Xcarguy here are some more pic's. The long door in the front is an RV access door. It allows me to tie down the front of my car without having to squeeze my fat arse inside the front of the trailer.

Come up to the Midwest Se7ens Gathering In Cuba, MO, in June, and you can see it in person. Russ

I have a 7 x 14 homemade enclosed trailer that my book build se7en fits in perfectly. It is aerodynamic and tows great. I took a homemade trailer that had angle iron sides and filled in the spaces between the angle and the bed. Then I added a sloped front square tubing frame on top of the angle iron and covered it with .040 aluminum sheets. The rear door lifts up with gas springs making a covered awning to sit under Works out great. Tows like a dream. Been to Estes Park, CO and Door County, WI and several Midwest Se7ens Gatherings with it. Russ

Well, I went to the Hermann, MO area to scout out some roads and boy did I ever put the miles on my new truck. With the help of Chris Reinke, who is building a Miata based 221 Locost in Cuba, MO, we laid out over 450 miles of twisty, up, and down pure driving pleasure roads. I still have a few kinks to work out but it looks like the 2014 Midwest Se7ens Gathering will keep up with the tradition of great roads and even greater friends getting together to enjoy our love of these little cars. Here are a couple of motels we looked at to get your opinions on. The Wagon Wheel is an old time road house right out of the glory days of Route 66. Very nostalgic!!! The rooms are rather small and most do not have microwaves or refrigerators but they do have A/C. No breakfast is served unlike most motels. They do have an adequate amount of parking for our trailers. The Super 8 Motel is a modern hotel with lots of parking and the normal amenities you would expect in this modern age. So what do you think? It would be nice to get your opinions and get a head count on how many plan on attending this June 5-8, 2014 event. So let me know, Russ http://www.wagonwheel66cuba.com/ http://www.super8.com/hotels/missouri/cuba/super-8-cuba/hotel-overview?hotel_id=03485&cid=whg_s8_ggl_br&wid=ps:br_whg&002=2191774&004=5624212370&005=8200352027&006=22192458530&007=Search&008=&025=c&026=&gclid=CP6tyrjCrLwCFXNp7AodAjMALg

Suzuki Swift GTi motor and Samurai transmission set up F/S
locost7018 replied to locost7018's topic in Cars For Sale
I just remembered I have a Ford EDIS ignition with trigger wheel and a set of Kawasaki 600 bike carbs I will throw in to sweeten the deal, Russ -
OK, here is what I have: Clean 1993 Suzuki Swift GTi motor with ECU (unknown mileage or condition), wiring, flywheel, and yellow powder coated valve cover. New, complete, GTi gasket set. Samurai 5 speed transmission (unknown mileage or condition), Samurai flywheel. Factory GTi service manual. Aftermarket Swift and Samurai manuals. Samurai short drive shaft (goes between the transmission and the transfer box). GTi tubular racing exhaust header. I have well over $1200.00 invested in all this. I have tried to rotate the engine every month but I would think it would need an overhaul because it has sit so long. There are several large boxes of STUFF so shipping would not be cheap. I could bring it to the Se7ens Gathering near St Louis I early June that I am in charge of and you could pick it up there which would save a lot in shipping plus you could see all the cars. I will not take less than $1000 for the complete package plus shipping. Let me know soon before I put it out on fleabay. Russ

Ross, what is an "integral remote"? Russ
-
Dingo, it is a Type 2 from what I am told with integral bellhousing. Locost Builder in the UK has given me some leads. I will call Monday. I have not had a lot of luck with BAT. Every time I have communicated with them (phone and email) they have been rather snotty to me. bigdog nice links. Thanks. I love Burton Power. I could spent a fortune there. Russ

What was the shops name? Do I have to pay customs fees in addition to shipping?

I will be upgrading my tired old 1300cc xflow to a Pinto 1600cc next winter and I am looking for transmissions that will fit it. My existing tranny from the British Escort is about shot and there are no parts on this side of the pond to fit it. A T9 with a Pinto bellhousing will work but they are rare and expensive. Are there any other trannys that will fit EASILY. I see Pinto 2000cc and 2300cc trannys for sale but will they fit a xflow? Russ

My enclosed 7x14 trailer maybe weights 2500lbs max with the Se7en in it and everyone I have talked to pooh poohs my idea of trading in my gas guzzleing 2003 Silverado 1500HD "Queen Mary" for a Toyota Tacoma pickup (the small one). They say it won't pull it safely. I wish I could get the straight story!!! Russ

Sweeeeet!! love the cone deflectors. Your wings (fenders) will love them too. Are they removable? Bring it to the Midwest Se7ens Gathering outside St Louis in June. I would love to see it in person. Russ
