  1. Considering opportunity cost and uncertainty of the future, I would just buy it now, expect a minor depreciation at worst and get to enjoy something in meantime. Otherwise if prices never go back down (which is possible) you're only losing out on more and more time and use. There are people in California which have been waiting on home prices to drop for decades and there is end in sight for that.

  3. If you see a perfect one for you, don't be afraid to go high on it in value. It will retain the value and it will be annoying and expensive to turn another one into perfect... So technically it's cheaper to buy one to begin with. Ain't that the truth. My low mile SoCal car leaked every fluid it could and I'm still sorting things out years later. Love it though
  4. Villa 201 secured Now time to see if my car is functional...
  5. That would make sense. Still curious to what happened to some of the stock options that it should have such as wide track and FIA bar
  6. Depends. Are you in California? What are you looking for in a 7? Seven is a wierd crossroads of "they are all the same" but also "they are all different" and it takes lots of time and money to source things to make them the way you want. So you're stuck between having nothing and endlessly waiting for right one to come along, or you're going with "good enough" go through the agony of fixing and changing things along the way. If a small cockpit is what you're looking for (non SV), you're in California, and performance is important the cars and bids one might be the way to go. It will likely go $35k and $40k Otherwise if you want different colors, or different history or different setup then likely wait. Difficult parts to swap and find if they matter to you - wide track suspension, colors, seats, carbon fiber parts like dash, wheels. Roll cage is expensive but somewhat easy, I swapped mine.
  7. Good eye. Big oof. I'm also curious about the cutout and whether it was a reskin or a plug under wrap or supplied for a different model without a cut to begin with? Ive never seen a vin plate in that location but it does look clean or factory like
  8. I haven't had a good argument online in a while, time to ruffle some feathers.
  9. It's a peculiar car. I got curious and asked some questions
  10. Ooh a rare cars and bids listing. Wish Doug would review a 7
  11. Just saw this at Concours d'Elegance on YouTube
  12. Aw shucks. It was nice to have but I never used it. One major problem that many people didn't realize or didn't care who used VT to register is that while VT let you do it your car was never 100% legal on the road and if you got into accident coverage could be denied. Croc knows the minutia but in short the Reg/your residence and your state of insurance all have to match. VT would let you register but your insurance and your residence would always be your own state and be a mismatch. One reason why I never bothered. I guess Montana is all we have left for loop holes
  13. Selling both of mine. Mocked up one side but never used. One bag still sealed. Decided to go with Westermann but probably should have stuck with these in hindsight If you ever wanted to swap to CSR style fenders, nows your chance. They are about $180 USD from CC parts, plus shipping and other fees depending on how they ship them to you (import duty). I'll do $130 plus shipping. PN 58102L 58102R Can also bring to NJMP for the 7s day CSR look for reference

  15. So Ive tried it now It's enough.. but barely. I kept a 5amp trickle charger and an portable 18v inverter in my car on my travels in case I ran out. So far no issues but I've also haven't had to do excessive cranking. I'd say it's probably good for about 5-10 solid full all cylinder rotations. With that said, I was disappointed in the mount I've ordered for it on eBay as it's nowhere near as well polished and refined as it is in the picture, locking bolts don't quite line up and it will be returned. Also there was a battle with my SO as the internet isnt too friendly towards horror stories for Lithium car batteries and how it can be a hazard to have in a house I've discovered that they can have a run away overheating problem. When there is an issue they start creating heat faster than they can dissipate it and it becomes a fire risk problem. From what I've read anti gravity is supposed to have safety mechanisms in it to prevent that but my carelessness proved to me that it's not idiot proof... If you mount the battery in reverse after placing it in a new mount and not realizing that it's backwards, it will cause a short... And start a runaway heating cycle... Still not sure if car is alright but battery is compromised and shot, and is resting in a fire pit right now
  16. Bump. If I can't find a 3rd within a week or so I'll start to secure alternate plans through Millville or similar.
  17. Oh. Uh oh. With the family in tow my options are either stay on track or not go at all as Millville is too far away to make it useful as point of operations for when little one has needs. When you say madhouse... What should be expected? The pits will be crazy or Villas will somehow be affected too?
  18. Anybody want to split a full Villa rental 3 way? It's a 3 bedroom. I'd really prefer to lodge on site due to family needs and if I can't stay on site, then the trip might not be in the cards this year. For anybody who doesn't have accommodations, reach out and once I have two people interested we can book and secure it. First come first serve. $650 a night split 3 ways for 2 nights = $433 total + tax. It's 1 bedroom in upper villa, 2 in the lower. Seems to be the only option left to lodge on premises.
  19. Is there something else going on that day or am I late to the party? Everything seems booked. VIP and villas... One is available as full villa rental at 650 a night but I can't swing that...
