Is the cage somewhat easily removable? My word of advice, since BaT people can be a bit fickle (go crazy for a specific color, or get scared over something minor), for BaT listing I'd remove the cage for primary photos and put original back on.

As somebody who's had to remount his fenders a number of times I'm very happy with big heads. I've had to redo the silicone when it failed and it's a PITA to be scraping it off, reprepping the surface and re aligning the fenders. I much rather just cut a few zip ties and remount. Replacing the stays can be annoying as well as an option. So far zip ties is the easiest method by far.

Big difference is also if you want them removable and you use big heads or if you want them permanently attached. permanently is obviously easier and has more material to bond with

Just saw BMW announce the all new G70 (7 series SUV) It is... different. I feel like we are at the very beginning point of crossing over into what we all thought future cars would look like but actually in practice. As I see these cars I think of iRobot car. Most have Siri type talking to capability. They are all screens. Self driving is more and more advanced. Here is the 7 Theater screen inside "Iphones" for door controls We know that the future is heading in the electric direction overall. So here is the question. Lets imagine it's 2050 (feel old yet?) what does the average car on the road look like? Is it anything we actually want to drive or is it actually futuristic and is awesome and can get us from point A to B while we read a newspaper? What's going on with our 7's? How expensive is the gas? Are parts still available for us to work on our dinosaurs? New generation (Zoomers are now parents!) thinks of gasoline cars as ancient as carburetors. Carburetors in general is a foreign concept similar to lighting fire with sticks, only people that do it are "purists" as there is no need for using the primitive technology when things like lighters (even those are electric now) exist.

Subscribing to follow others with cooling woes... I tend to run hot or overheat at idle nowadays but I've been fine on the track and while moving in general. As a matter a fact while sitting in queue to get on the track last time I started to get hot and cooled down when got on the track and stared moving. I have a pending water rail order but I'm not sure it would resolve my problems. Zetec.

I didn't like the FIA bar but for different reasons. I didn't like the asymmetry or the fact the side bars were vertical and not sloped inward towards the center so I got the double diagonal instead. If removing it is your crux and replacement is not available seems simple enough to a metal fabricators to delete it and to get it repower coated.

Hear hear. I ended up with finding my 7 at the right time in my life but it was certainly more of a financial stretch than a lot of others. Not a big deal as it's not a competition but it's easy to feel out of your element at something like a track day. At the end of the day we are all united in the fact that we love a dangerous, visceral, basic old roadster. Why the hate for the FIA bar?

I tend to be risk aversive and overthink things with a cost benefit analysis. Definitely reluctant to jump into anything, hence the 9-5 life. (7-7:30 technically but semantics) I've done entrepreneuring before which didn't have potential but taught me a lot and how much time your own business can take up. In early 2000's I had big dreams and actually composed a local auto/moto enthusiast newspaper with I believe 2000 print issues for first edition. Distributed it anywhere I could and made a forum for people to read the digital version on and just chat. After 2 issues it made no sense to keep the print going and just kept the forum going for close to a decade. Was the most successful local area forum to date, a couple of thousand members, high visit numbers, over a million posts total etc. Ended up selling it for next to nothing when I realized that it's a dead end direction long term and it wasn't worth my time in the end to deal with drama and online trolls. Still always keep an eye on branching out to something else potentially (hence the post) whether it be career or business but so far very comfortable where I am and seeing the years go by. Low risk and comfortable here but obviously "low" financial reward as well. I'd like to be in 6 figures in this career and likely will be able to stay happy, until then I'm on the lookout.

From what I see 7's gather fans from all walks of life. I'm in my mid 30's, tech in Semiconductor industry. Been at it for over 10 years and deliberating on moving on to Engineering in my career path, however grass is always greener. Coding always looks interesting as a potential career change with high demand or something in data science/analytics, which seems more alluring. What do you do? Do you like it? Does it pay the bills? What does the future outlook like for your career? I like Semiconductors. Always something to learn and is definitely future proof. It pays the bills but on the grand scheme of things even as Engineer 6 figure salary isn't guaranteed and takes a while to get to in my area.

The movie file didn't upload proper, I don't think. Is everything you post been video edited by you? Is that your drone work? If so quite impressive on all accounts.

From very limited research into the area almost nothing off the shelf will fit into an S3 chassis. I believe even the Tillett seats that are used are specially made for S3's and aren't standard. Even with that the Tilletts are an incredibly tight fit that sit right up against both walls and rub against the middle divider on the way in and out. With that said there has been a number of OEM options over the years that work between Caterham, Westfield and Birkin that should fit or are at least worth looking into.
