I didn't mean to offend anyone (except maybe reality show watchers). Just that it's not good for democratic societies like ours to get so out of whack in relation to poor/middle class/wealthy ratios (which the video demonstrated much better than my rant). I think "structural unemployement" is coming our way too (a bit off). I read an article where positions like para-legals and other researcher type jobs are disappearing due to the ease of getting information nowadays. We have a super large warehouse here for Target. The semi-trucks back into the loading dock, give the warehouseman the request and items are automatically stacked, palletized and put in the truck... nobody on forklifts etc.. Next is the driverless car, legal on California roads now. Trucking would seem to be a no brainer for established routes... 60 Minutes had a bit about automation and that one reason manufacturing is coming back to the U.S. is it's getting cheaper to automate jobs even at China's salaries. .

Slngshot, I doubt your in the percentage that we're talking about... while we may have some millionaires here, I doubt we have any billionaires. Plus, average Americans have always aspired to the "self-made man" and we often admire their determination to succeed financially. But there used to be a strong aversion to their descendants that have done nothing to earn their wealth. Now it seems reality TV has made stars out of these useless silver spooned pigs. And many of the younger generation see nothing wrong with living off their parents or grandparents (the economy doesn't help). You can call it an oligarchy, aristocracy, netocracy or plain ol crony capitalism, but the longer it takes for ditto head sheeples to wake up, the more I'm afraid Automoda's prophecy is going to come true. Once conservatives see how they've been hoodwinked by corporate America their anger will know no bounds.

To me, those that get the most out of these cars are the designers, engineers, builders and test drivers. I bet they often sit there and think "I can't believe I'm getting paid to do this". .

The top 1% has kicked the middle class' ass. Check out this video. I don't know what it will take to fix it. But having the top 1% continue to pay less taxes then they have in 50 years obviously isn't one of the ways. Looks like the gilded age is upon us again. Sorry for the negativity, just tired of the argument that the rich will work harder if we give them more and the poor will work harder if we give them less. I'm fortunate but some family and friends have been struggling for quite some time. And working a lot harder for the money they now get. Ok, off my soapbox and back to 7 stuff .

It will be interesting to see how they can offer A/C, heat, 3 airbags, anti-loc brakes, 1 litre engine etc.. for $6800. It is front wheel drive, 5 speed or auto (with reverse)

If you got a free Sunday, this would be a good time to go. I wish I could... Hello Drivers, Speed Ventures is running an open track/open test day at Buttonwillow Raceway this weekend (March 9, 10). The forecast is for 0% chance of rain and sunny! We have room both days in all run groups, but are particularly light on signups for SUNDAY. Here are the car counts for Sunday's event: RED Group: 11 drivers GREEN Group: 9 drivers BLACK Group: 9 drivers PURPLE Group: 11 drivers BLUE Group: 12 drivers. This means plenty of open laps, and all the track time you could want. I kept thinking if I was a midget (or politically correct "little person") I'd be calling that guy.

Very nice! You might want to put a "buy now" price to give people an idea of what your looking to get (I'm sure it's more than the $25 grand bid)

Guess they didn't need much lumbar support... oh, the row of switches on the right, third row down, second from left.. that switch should be in the up position

2nd on the fab work... I just don't have the patience (excuse for skill) to pull much off. Never really worked with anything more than basic tools. I am good at taking things apart and replacing what's needed, just not custom work. Made me think twice about getting one of these cars. Anyway, props to all you "artists" out there.

I've had a couple snaps pull thru the skin... keep them lubed regularly now as we S2K guys have to open our boot to fill up.

Yeah... that's my story and I'm sticking to it

Understanding Engineers #1 To the optimist, the glass is half-full. To the pessimist, the glass is half-empty. To the engineer, the glass is twice as big as it needs to be. Understanding Engineers #2 A priest, a doctor, and an engineer were waiting one morning for a particularly slow group of golfers. The engineer fumed, "What's with those guys? We must have been waiting for fifteen minutes!" The doctor chimed in, "I don't know, but I've never seen such inept golf!" The priest said, "Here comes the greens-keeper. Let's have a word with him." He said, "Hello George, What's wrong with that group ahead of us? They're rather slow, aren't they?" The greens-keeper replied, "Oh, yes. That's a group of blind firemen. They lost their sight saving our clubhouse from a fire last year, so we always let them play for free anytime!." The group fell silent for a moment. The priest said, "That's so sad. I think I will say a special prayer for them tonight." The doctor said, "Good idea. I'm going to contact my ophthalmologist colleague and see if there's anything she can do for them." The engineer said, "Why can't they play at night?" Understanding Engineers #3 What is the difference between mechanical engineers and civil engineers? Mechanical engineers build weapons. Civil engineers build targets

Well I guess I finally throw my two cents in with everyone else

I'd never have the patience to wait that long to sell... and then probably be too old to enjoy the next vehicle. But if I was tight with my father or uncle etc.. who had a car like that to sell....

I barely fit but the idea of just having a quarter inch of fiberglass for protection started worrying me. If I knew of this place I might of kept it a while longer http://www.banks-europa.co.uk/cars_home.htm

Hey, you weren't using your cell phone to take that picture were you;)

Boy that brings back memories. I had one exactly like that, except the wheels. I also remember going up I5 sweating that if something broke I was in the middle of nowhere.. Did a complete redo on it. Rebuilt motor with sidedraft webers, new electrical, paint, interior etc.. I was finding it harder and harder to get it smogged (running out of guys that would "get it to pass"). Finally sold it to some guy who took it back with him to Japan. Posted pic here http://usa7s.com/vb/showthread.php?t=5640&highlight=europa
